400W MH - Distance from Plants

Hey all! I was just wondering if my light is possibly slowing vertical growth... My plants are ~2 weeks and 5 days from sprout, and I think they are looking a bit short for that age.... is my light to close to them? It's about 12-13" from the tops in this pic....

Please comment and let me know. The plants are all looking healthy and showing signs of new growth, but are they looking a bit behind for thier age...?

I was wondering the same thing. I can put my hand about 7 inches away from my metal halide and it will not feel uncomfortable, so does this mean I can put my 400 watt MH 8 inches away from the top of my plants?

If It doesn't feel too warm on your hand then it should be fine....IMO the closer the better

I dont think the light is the issue...what is your PH? if its higher end of what they like this will slow them down a bit....i use 400 halide and my lights are farther than yours away and they are growing fine with very little stretch
