these are my babies after about 5 days flowering; i keep having to raise the lights, theyre really starting to shoot up. i can see pre-flowers they are too small for me to tell. i tried taking photos of them but my camera is too shit with close ups :(

off to get some flowering fert and new pots tomorrow

any1 know if i should use this 'seasol' on my plants
here is the info

Active Constituent: Seaweed extract which contains naturally occurring growth stimulants, potassium and trace elements. Equivalent to not less then 700g/litre of fresh seaweed. Seasol is a plant conditioner, not a nitrogen based fert. It contains virtually no nitrogen or phosphorus.

If i do use it, then how much should i use? all it says on the back is "9 litres diluted mixture covers approx. 2-4 square metres. what about three pots?
Yo jonny! So, the seaweed: I went to the seasol site to see if there were any instructions, even though I am sure that you have already done this. But this is how things look:

All measurements are given in terms of 9L water, and, as you said, are meant to cover 2-4 square meters. Let's say (and you'd have to do the math yourself as I have no idea what size containers you ended up getting) you have 1 sq. m., as this is easily cut in half if it's too large.

They say at seasol that roses should get up to 50ml/9L, and palms, accustomed to getting a little less water, are usually at around 30ml, up to 40. I would personally go with the larger number, as roses, although a bush, are probably not getting as much light as your plants and are therefore unable to go through the nutrients as fast. I would recommend the rose dose as a starter. So: they say that you're wanting a dilluted mixture of around 5.5ml/L (50/9) and that one liter will cover between .2 and .4 square meters. So 11ml/2L should cover, at most, .8 sq. m. For three plants, that should be plenty of water depending on the size of the containers. I would guess that this liquid, mixed in to a regular fertilizer regimen (although it could be tested on its own or just with molasses if you're hesitant to possibly overfeed) would suit your needs just fine. Let me know how it works out. your babies are looking good.:blsmoke:

Thanks again for your help and time clekstro.

Day ~10 flowering
I have created a 2L solution of seasol and water (11ml seasol) and i have also added 10ml of 'Ionic Soil' which is a nutrient recommended for flowering. the man at my hydroponic shop said it was the best for use with soil. it has no NPK reading, and it says nothing on the bottle that it is meant for flowering but the guy recommended it so i suppose it must do SOME good.

It says to use 5ml in 1L so i have used 10ml in 2L (along with the 11ml of seasol) i have not watered my plants with this solution yet as i have just watered them earlier.

i have also created some spray with just the 'Ionic Soil' same concentration. i am not sure how often to foliar spray but i will start off at once a week and see how it goes. the man at the shop said i can water my plants with 'Ionic Soil' every time i water...

the pre-flowers on my plants are still quite small.

Two of them seem to have pistils but one: the pre-flower looks more like an emerging set of leaves?? this is the closest thing to a pre-flower i can find on the particular plant. fingers crossed.

heres some pics
any1 know if they are females?

From what I've seen with my grow and what I've read online, I would say that its safe to assume that those are females. Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you're in luck!

i've used a bit of foliar spray. unfortunately, i did it b4 reading the FAQ, so the lights were on... no burning yet though.

i have also pruned two big leaves that seem to be getting in the way of all the other foliage

~14th day of flowering

used my new mixture of Seasol and Ionic Soil solution and my plants are looking really healthy.

the pr-flowers on my female plants have'nt seem to have grown much and i can't find anymore than about 3-4 per plant. i suppose this is the part where the most patience is needed; so close but so far!

heres a pic of the effect of the Seasol

:peace:

looking good man but i see a little nute burn on the tips just be easy with your chemicals so you dont burn them too much and reduce your yeild.
id recommend only using nutes evry other water. they will still grow good and not get burned. i burned my plants my first time and learned the hard way:)

okay cheers tokes. every other water it is then
no problem and yea the flowers will take a lil while to faten up.
but in the time they do youll be inticipating tht harvest:) but just make sure u chop them at the right time. i got to eager on my first crop and pulled a bit early and dryed them to quick so it wash really harsh smoke not bad high just bad taste. be sure to stop giving them nutes a week or 2 before harvest and give them just plain water to flush out the chems then let the soil dry out before you chop them and then age dry the buds slowly and youll have some hard smooth hitting buds.:joint:
a good method for drying is hanging the whole plant upside down till the buds are dry to the touch them trim the rest of the leaves off and whatnot and store them in a tubba ware or airsealed jar this will even the inside moisture all out trugh he buds
just open them at least once a day keep mold away and to watch the moisture and when they are dryed to your liking pack a fat bowl and enjoy.

-17th day of flowering

thanks again tokes u learned grower!

My babies are looking happy, i've moved my fan a little closer and given them longer hours with the extractor fan on. hopefully this will strengthen their stems, ready to hold some nice big buds.

seeing a few more white hairs here and there, and the one in the 20L pot is shooting up so much that i have to raise the lights about inch everyday

i'm tempted to translpant the smaller plant (5L pot) into a massive pot but i don't really want to stress it while it's flowering. (or the small pot could be more stressful)

anyway, i've eased up on the fert and the yellow tips have turned green so it's all looking good for now
peace out
