400w hood - how close to ceiling

so my flowering mama is reaching for the stars. I'm running out of space to move up the light. How close can I get the hood to the ceiling if I have a drywalled ceiling?

you can get it pretty close but why don't you just bend the tree instead?

it won't be the last one that grows so tall. It seems like I'm wasting about a foot of space. I'll take a pic to show you. But I may still end up bending her sooner or later.

i put an oscilating fan on mine and I can put my hands on it when the bulb is lit. so it will not hurt the drywall. as always though, put a smoke alarm in there for safe keepings.

The first light setup I used i bought some ez rollers to hang it with just like yours, my first grow got so big that i had to put them all the way up, when i got my second hid system I went with chains and now the light is about 1cm away from the ceiling. The reflector will put most of the light back towards the plant, however the reflector does get quite warm, I personally think you would be able to take it as close as you like but would avoid letting it actually touch the ceiling.

Another thing I could recommed you do having a look at your picture is on my ez rollers instead of tieing it to the reflector I used the little key ring hoops to connect mine up, they are more than strong enough to hold the lamp.

So you got rid of the little v-shaped hangers and connected the hangers directly to the hood?
