400w 600w 1000w 8x8 or 10x10 area

Hello RIU Questions for the upcoming future! My question: Lets say funds are not of an issue, Should i do 4 400w 4 600w or 2 1000w? Someone please help with reason. Another thing Should i do digital or magnetic ballasts with this setup. Last question when it comes to air cooled hoods and air cooled tubes why wouldent i buy the tube it would seem like better air control. reflectors are reflectors whether its made of german aluminum or japanese aluminum

2 1000 probably be easier easier to control temp..
Also cooltubes are better for heat wise but do give less light from what I've read. I myself chose the air cooled hood cause they are more popular and more light I believe then a cooltube.

Generally, i cover 5' x 5' with a 1000w hps for flowering. so, if money were not a problem, i would put 4 1000w bulbs on digital ballasts with Raptor (or similar) air cooled reflectors for flowering a 10' x 10' area. i like reflectors more than tubes because they spread the light more evenly. if u plan on running a sealed room (no fresh air intake/exaust) u will almost certainly need an air conditioner.

Cool tubes suck the ass . Anytime you can run more 600s instead of the 1kw.
1kw lamps you have to back off so they are good for a bigger footprint IF you have the room to raise the light.
If not they can be too intense for living things.
I recommend the 600s. And then there's always the choice of buying ballasts that will do 400/600/1000 watt lamps.
Then all you have to do is swap out the lamp for a higher or lower wattage lamp.

I couldent imagine the tubes giving off less light, but ill do some research on that. I like the better for heat idea for sure, and cheaper! dumb but good question, how come 2 1000watts would be better for temp?

nice i was a little stoned and money is of some problem... lol crickets.. so if im trying to keep my heat and electric bill down but still grow nice buds what would you do, change the plan to a 10x5 and run 2 1000w? or just buy 4 600watts for the big 10x10 and make it work for more yield! and maybe less heat?

I really dont think cool tubes are of that much difference its just perspective and spoiledness no offense. the footprint may be proportionally smaller but really it cant be of that much difference.

I'm using a 600w in a cooltube with side reflectors in a 5x5x7 room and never had any light issues on my plants or any heat issues.

The reflectors hang from the top of the cooltube and come off at an angle on the sides of the tube and I'm using a tent so my walls are already reflective.

I have read recently that the most cost efficient lights are the 600w.. Now that being said. I have two 5x8x8 rooms that I flower in.. I run 1000 watt lights in each room.. 4 plants per light

The ideal reccomendation is 40 watts/sq.ft. of space. So, say you have an 8'x8' room for example, you multiply 8'x8'= 64sq.ft. That means you would need 64sq.ft. x 40 watts/sq.ft.=2,560 watts. So, the best choice I believe is to go with 4-600 watt lights as they are more effecient, you can place them closer to plants because of the less heat that it gives off rather than the 1000 watt bulbs. You should definiteley buy a digital ballast as their more efficient, and produce more light, than a magnetic ballast. You will have more light spread w/ the 4-600 watts, than you will with the two 1000 watt bulbs. For example: the light from the 4-600 w bulbs will cover more space than 2 1000's.

You helped me greatly, im either going with 600 or 400 2 for the beginning and then 4 in end. Now about digital ballasts, theres very cheap ballasts under a company called ultra grow, does anyone reccomend this company? they have some of he cheapest ballasts on the market which leads me to believe that there probably loud ass hunks of garbage. The Digital Ballast im most likely getting is the select a watt 400 and 600 by galaxy it comes with a 5 year warrenty which im very excited about.

How big are your plants? You should be able to fit 8-16 plants under a single 1000 watt bulb. just curious?
Ignore that post from me i re read that like 10 times i must of been stones, and right now i only have 3 young seedlings sprouted as of 4 or 5 days ago. I really need to buy seeds and i have the money to do so, i just dont know a legit sight that will take my mastercard and will ship to the east cost. The genectics on these 3 girls are pretty but poor
