400 w metal hallide - would it work 4 hydro

hey does this light look good if i was to start a hydro plant in my attic(insulated and climate controlled along with the rest of the house)NEW 400 watt METAL HALIDE GROW LIGHT w 400w MH LAMP hps - eBay (item 180230055088 end time Apr-13-08 11:16:51 PDT)

i'm just getting into this and need to know everything before spending money on stuff that isn't worth it

How high is your attic? That light is going to generate some heat: you may need to ventilate to the outside, which will require thinking about fans.

get a 6 inch vented light dont buy a reflector without it being vented.It makes thing easeir.

Those lights are fine but they are poorly constructed i had a 400 w halide of those that got twice as hot as my higher quality 1000 w hps

the higher the quality of the light the better, you get what you pay for.
