ok so im about to buy a new digital ballast and reflector. im going with the c.a.p.s. lighting ballast and lumenair reflector. there is a 400w switchable m/h hps and there is a 400/600 switchable m/h hps in one for $100 more. i was set on getting the 400/600 combo so i could veg on 400w to save electricity and then flower on 600w to increase yield, but like i said its $100 more so my question to you who know is, is it really worth it to have the 600w for flowering? how much will my yield increase from using a 600 over a 400?

peace, love, rip it

come on peeps im literally about to walk out the door to go make a purchase. i guess im gonna get the 400/600 combo just to be safe. im sure the yield increase will exceed the $100 price increase sooner than later. peace and thanks for looking but not responding, lazy ass stoners. j/k peace, live, laugh, and make love!

just get a 600 your theory about veg with the 400 is bad a mh bulb doesn't carry the lumens of a hps buld so not only would you be lowering wattage you would be traden for lower watt and lower light output. just get a plain ol 600w

dnt get your panties in a bunch noone is obligated to answer your questions

the plain ol 600 is only $10 cheaper so i went with the 400/600 switchable. now i have the option of not vegging with a 600 which uses more electricity and creates way more heat. im sure this will come in handy in the summer months.

those aren't MY panties i got in a bunch...

essentially that's what it is.... never thought of it quite like that. that would be awesome to have an actual dimmer on an hid.

you dnt really need a special ballast you can run a 400 in a 600 ballast just not the other way around. you can run anything up to 600 in a 600 balast
or 1000 can run anything up to 1000w, like if you took a 60 watt light bulb out of your lamp and replaced it with a 25w bulb but if you put a 100w in there you may fry some wires
just thought you should know
