4 Strain DWC Grow! LED and CO2!

Hello RIU!! Welcome to smhsmichael's Grow Journal.

I just started growing dro not too long ago; this will be my 3rd grow. My first grow I had a 250w MH/HPS light. But I got rid of that because temps in the grow room were pushed to about 88 with it on. However I did harvest over 3 o's from 6 seeds of various NL crosses.
On my 2nd grow that I just finished, I hardly got anything from growing 1 auto blueberry. I don't know if the LED just doesn't provide enough light, or if I'm not pushing in enough CO2 into the grow room. I had the settings for the CO2 tank the same as described below. But I think the main problem was that the plant didn't go into flowering as smoothly as most auto's. But I don't really know, that was my first time growing an auto. Not impressed though, will be sticking to conventional photoperiod strains from now on.

So with that said, I'm going to be eying the effectiveness of my LED light on this grow. I'm hoping to harvest around 6 oz this time though, so any input on how to achieve that is greatly appreciated. Feel free to post your 2 cents on my setup/techniques.

The seeds were soaked in water for about 12 hours then placed in Ready-Grow plugs. And thats where they've been since this morning. The White Siberian is the only seed that I saw sprouting a tap root when I checked a few hours ago. In a couple days I'll be transplanting them to the grow room.

Setup

2x3x5ft grow tent
6-Site 12 gallon DWC with integrated top-drip system
SunShine Systems Glow Panel 45 mixed spectrum
*I am also planning to add 2 or 3 3000k 42w CFL bulbs during flowering*
20lb CO2 tank with Titan Controls regulator

I'm running Fox Farm nutes. I also just picked up Botanicaire Sweet and am going to use it throughout the grow. I am also considering adding Hygrozyme or unsulphered molasses during flowering.

RO water only used!

You can see from the pics that I have my CO2 line running through the top of the tent. I will be tying that to a small fan for dispersement. I have my regulator plugged into a timer that is set to go off for 3 minutes every 3 hours or so. The regulator is set to .5 CFH, so that adds about 900 PPM to bring the level to around 1200 PPM of CO2 in the grow tent.

I welcome any and all comments and suggestions on this grow!

Also, if I decide to be a couchlocked stoner and neglect updating this thread as often as you all would like, feel free to harass me until I get off my lazy ass and post new pics and updates.

Feel free to post any other questions about my setup in case I forgot to cover anything.

Your DWC looks pretty cool, did you make it yourself?
It looks similar to some that I saw while browsing eBay.

I would love to see some pics of the inside of it if you don't mind.
I find it helps with ideas to improve my own system.

Hey shand! Glad to have you on board. Yes I did buy that DWC on ebay. It's worked out really well for me. I get fatty root mass from that system.

Heres some pics of the inside. Pretty simple. Just a small pump to push water to the top then out the drip system, and an 8in air stone.




Hopefully that gives you an idea of what's going on inside the rubbermaid. Let me know if you want any other pics.

Hey every body. Its been a minute, but my girls are on their 2nd day of 20/4.

Everything went smooth with germination, and transplanted them to the grow room no prob.

Although I'm having an issue now with the ph of my water. Its RO water but its super acidic. right about 4.0.

So i've been adjusting and narrowing in on that 6.0 range. but here's pics

Then in the back right corner is the kandy kush. and yes i know shes bent over. I turned the small fan on the other day for a minute, and i guess the wind was too much for her. my bad. but she'll prop back up no prob.

And finally on the bottom right is the skunk #11 by dutch passion.

So I've been doing some research on led's pretty much all night now. and it looks like I need a TON more wattage in my grow tent!! I'm only pushing 45w right now, and I should have something more like a 270w 357mag led grow light or something. hmm... any input?

So after all my research on led's today, I think I'm going to purchase the Spectra 290w led. I was leaning towards the 357 mag but I read a thread on here today and some guy hooked the 357 up to a wattage meter and it only drew about 180w, but the Spectra led drew about 260w, a lot closer to its stated 290w. and that would make sense because the 357 mag uses 119 3w diodes, while the Spectra uses 160 3w diodes.

Any input would be greatly appreciated

Just ordered a new grow light!

I called them up and spoke to Mike. Really cool guy. Honest and straightforward , just like the conpany.
They are the only manufacturer of led grow panels that state the ACTUAL power draw of the light panel, that I've seen.

Anyway, the light will be shipped put in about a week. Which is perfect because I'm plannings to run my current light all the way thru veg ,then switch.

So I'm officially a dumbass lol. So last night I turned on the co2 for a minute to give the girls a little boost. But I was soo stoned, that I forgot to turn it off. So the co2 was on for about 6 hours running .5 cfm. The plants seemed fine, but I know all that co2 cant be good for them. So im just hoping that little mishap doesnt affect my girls...

I got two 290W LEDS waiting to be shipped to me from mike. Order was placed on the 22 of last month and still have not got the email about them being shipped. You will get about 278W of LED light from one panel as the fans need juice. Good research bro.

All good. Yea same here emailed him got paypal quick. Tue will be 3 weeks since i paid hopefully they will ship soon. Flipping 12/12 Sunday or in almost 24 hrs more like 23 since we bout to lose one. The buds his lights grow are sick man.

Ya dude. I'm stoked to get that light put up in my grow tent. Im hoping that my white siberian grows some dank dank buds

If u seen grows from irish boy it sure will. I believe to keep them @ 2' during veg and 1' or so during flower. You can lower it in either phase but dont want it close than 16" during veg. I would ask mike or Irish boy since he is also here and irish got a lot of experience with them. Not sure if he has the 2011 units yet tho.
