4 square feet

I have been doing research and planning for the last month or so.. I finally have convinced myself to not try a huge grow for my first attempt. Instead I decided to use a 4 square foot area.. I think imma try Sog, so My question is how many plants, and how much light ( example I was looking at a 150 watt hps for floweri) or 4 t5 bulbs, or a 150 watt cfl... Help please

Are you going to be growing a single plant? If so the 150 watt cfl would work perfect and would probably save you a bit of money compared to the t5s.
I use 3 of these for my grow room but I switched the bulbs to 200 watt

I wouldn't grow more than one plant if your gonna be using a single 150 watt even though you could probably fit 4-6 in a 4x4 area

1 plant per square foot and 50 watts of light per plant. thats your minimum requirements for any grow.

You don't want a "huge grow" for your first attempt but you are planning on SOG?

You will need to have about 16 plants to deal with all in different stages of growth, a constant supply clones, at least one mother plant, at least 2 light sealed areas for the different growth stages and a mother plant or two....

Maybe just grow a couple plants first time.

Get a 4 lamp 4' T5 for veg. The 150w would be OK but if you expand, you'll out grow it quickly. Maybe a 400w dimmable ballast?

Is 4sq your grow area or total area? Are you planning on using the same space for veg and flower?

in a 4x4 you would want at least a 600 watt light. 1000 would suit the horizontal space nice.
