Thanks for the props Smoke.

Yes Optic has made some bold claims about this lights performance...we shall see...I will have an informed opinion in 2 months.
I have been running 2 HLG 600's and Gavita HPS before that, so we will see how this light compares.
I chose the hempys because of the ease of which they operate. I am thinking of running some Waterfarms in the near future.

Best of luck with your grow.

Hey Smoke,
Sorry no journal...1st time running hempys and 1st run with a new light. I wanted to work out the kinks first, but so far it has been flawless...10 days into flower.
I been a long time grower... pretty new to LED's and hydro...but I love to try new things.

Your grow looks great and I really appreciate your attention to detail.
Did you get qb?

Veg Day 26.

I think my math has been off on these. Next one gets flipped 1/25 so they will be 6/5/7/9 weeks veg time.

Anyway, I noticed the new growth getting a bit of a lighter green on me since changing to the Mega Crop. So I upped feed from 500ppm to 750ppm tonight. Res PH had drifted to 6.1 so I dropped her back down to 5.8. I'm feeding them roughly every other day with about 30% runoff. (I'm a bit heavy handed but compared to the General Hydroponics nutes, Mega Crop is dirt cheap. I'm no longer having to use CalMag either. So I am definitely sticking with Mega Crop from now on. Much easier to use).

SW1 Day #5

I know I'm biased here but I have to say this is one beautiful plant. She has definitely figured out she's in flower and is starting to show off. She has some vivid yellow sunbursts starting to appear around her main pistils.
20200116_004842.jpg

Raised her feed to 1000ppm. Res had raised to 6.5ph. Not good. So dropped back down to 5.8. Note to self, check res ph before each feed...

She has grown 1" since flip

And is now 26" wide

I decided to play it safe so I moved my hood up to the recommended lowest height of 18".

So, that's where we're at.
I'm gonna bongsmilie now.

Quick note.

I just realized my Lux meter isn't showing the correct temp. Doors have normally been open for a while.

I have my exhaust turned down right now in flower because my veg tent runs right at 80F with exhaust @ 100% due to the 1000w mh.
My flower tent runs the same with both lights on, so I am trying to keep a constant temperature for them throughout the entire cycle.
So I will make sure next time to get a good Lux/Leaf temp reading with the tent @ regular temperature tomorrow.

SW1 Day #6
I'm thinking taking her out of the net was a bit... premature.
The stretch has begun and she is going to have some legs on her.
So, back under the net and tied back down she went. I also did some light penetration defoliation on her last night. Just key, large leaves in/around the center just to get more penetration. No more. 99% of outside leaves were left alone.

Light is @ 16" now. Got a proper canopy Lux/Temp reading. Couldn't have planned it better if I tried...

Insomnia won out again so I took off a few more leaves I didn't like and took a couple better pics.

This gave me some thinking time and made me think with the new seeds coming in shortly, I want to get things moving along. So, I am flipping another plant (SW2) @ 4 weeks tomorrow. And like the first, I decided to give her a night under the HPS to get used to it.

So, for the first time ever, I finally have all 3kW up and running. :)
20200118_043206.jpg
Flushed SW2 with flower feed (Flower=1000ppm Veg=750ppm/ 5.8Ph and might still have to up them) when she got moved over. She's under 73k Lux. (Veg is 62k Lux)

The other 2 will be flipped either next weekend or the following depending on how SW1/2 stretches work out. Still haven't quite figured out the clone yet...

What blend did you use for your buckets? 100% perlite or a mix? I've got a big bag of chunky perlite eyeing me at the moment and debating....
2 parts perlite 1 part vermiculite. I know some people go all perlite but I like the little buffer the vermiculite adds for the water retention.
***edit. I will say switching to hempy and mega crop has cut my daily upkeep from 1-2hrs to 10 min a day. No more mixing nutes all the time. I was able to make a cheap auto watering system because you cant overfeed a hempy. My back and girlfriend and much happier now. And the growth rate difference is huge.
