Hey everyone I've been reading a lot about growing on here and I've decided to start my own grow

I started off with cfls in my 2'x2'x5' but not am going to upgrade to a 400w hps with the batwing reflector (19" wide only reflector i found that fits in closet)

I already have a 4 inch ecoplus inline fan (170cfm i think) and I have a small 2" passive intake at the bottom of the closet.

So I was wondering if I needed to add ducting to the fan and have it positioned by the lights or can i just have the inline fan running and 2 small desk fans blowing up into the light?

Or

If i could find a cooltube that fits in my closet does it require ducting on both ends? or can i just let the air passively run out and have the inline fan running without any ducting.

Thanks!:eyesmoke:

o and also should i got with the 400w phantom ballast or lumatek?

I have a larger closet and I have a 400 watt with a wing as well. I duct from right next to the bulb to outside the closet and through a carbon filter so no stinky. But in that small of a closet if you use a 400 w you definatley need to pull the hot air out of the grow room. With the cool tube I wouldn't sugget attaching the fan derictly to the tube. You need a duct inbetween.

Yea i wanted to go with the cooltube but my closet will barely fit the regular batwing reflector. I think i found a cooltube that would fit but there would be no room for ducting on either side. will that be ok with the inline fan ?

o and also I found this listing on ebay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/400W-HPS-MH-GROW-LIGHT-WING-KIT-DELUXE-W-TIMER-YOYO-DIMMABLE-DIGITAL-/290612867554?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43a9e071e2#ht_6615wt_902
its a basic batwing reflector + 400w Revolt digital dimmable ballast - bulbs - hangers - timer for $160
which seems like the best deal ive found so far

Another site has pretty much the same package but i can get a lumatek or a phantom ballast w/o hangers or timer for $240
is it worth the extra 80 bucks?
