So I did a little trimming on the new mums. I took off all the fan leafs that were lower on each branch than is going to be cloned. Taking fan leafs encourages the new branch sites to grow faster due to the loss of power at that point. So by removing the fan leafs at the base of each branch rather than the top of the branch, where a new branch would get cut off when cloned, the growth will be enhanced at the inner plant.

Let me start off by saying this is all covered in previous posts so you can go back and check out the progress of their growth.

They veged for one month (gonna go month and a half next time).

They were all topped with six to seven nodes.

I planed on getting more spread on the branches but with my new 1000w light the stalks were so thick I couldn't bend them over.

Lookin' good, I'm real interested in seeing how you think the end result with the hydro setup compares to soil.

Speaking of soil, what did you use for rooting clones before the hydro setup?

You can see the differance in the old mum vs the tray. The old mum there is about as much better as I expected from just the light boost. The ones in the tray are WAY better than her.

As for before Full hydro. I started easy with bag seed, then when things got legal upgraded to buying clones, then got the EZ-Clone and went from it into soil, and then got the tray. Keep in mind this process has taken many years, and many crops in between. I had also made my own clone trays before the EZ-Clone just not nearly as reliably.

wow great scrog. im going scrog next time too, but i find soil more reliable for me. ive only had a few soil crops so far, nothing big. first time i didnt even use nutrients :P 50g out of 15 plants! lol. nutes are key

Ya I like the ability to reliably space colas with the screen but I think I missed the overall goal of scrog, being the entire screen covered in bud sites, but its my first time.

As for hydro I thought the same thing for years and even tried it out a few times in home made setups with little success. It wasn't till I got this real ebb/flow tray setup from the grow shop that I had any success. Now the benefits are making me want to shot myself for not doing it sooner. lol

looking good are they turning purple yet or is that thc or yellowing?
My camera phone sux I know.

The "yellow/bright" color in the middle of the buds extending out the leafs is the reflection of the light off of the MASSIVE amount of crystals. The leafs are Very deep green to the eye.

As for the purple that is affirmative. The tips of the bud leafs are starting to get a tint.
