The closet is 36"x40"x65" I want to grow 9 plants in this area using ebb and flow.

I'm looking for any type of advice I can get. Deals, Actual Setup, Anything I've overlooked, etc.

Here's what I have so far:
3x NLxBB, 3x WWxBB, 3x The Church all feminized
400w Lumatek 120v ditigal ballast and lamp with Yield Master II reflector w/ glass and hanging kit. 225.90
36"x36"x7" Flood Tray 54.99
23 Gallon Reservoir 18.00
186 gph submersible pump 16.00
1/2" flood and drain kit 8.00
digital timer 120v- dual outlet 20.00
Thermal Shield Mylar 25'x3.5' 34.00

I still need to buy:
Nutes, TDS tester, Ph Tester, Water Thermometer, air temp/humidity guage, rockwool cubes, growing medium, pH adjusters, ducting and fan for exhaust, air pump and air stone for res., and foam insulation to line the walls of the closet with.

I'm planning on putting up 1/2"-3/4" thick foam insulation on the walls and ceiling of the closet and lining it with thermal mylar. A passive air intake above the light. 4" exhaust line w/ a 6" duct blower pushing air down into an unfinished basement (odor might not be an issue, this space is completely unused)

You may or may not have a smell problem even if its into the basement, some strains will make a whole large house smell strongly withought proper filtration/ventilation.

You may find that the space is small for 9 plants but then again that depends on strain/ veg time.

A scrog may benefit you because you could use every inch of the closet.

It should work good keep us posted!

This is very similar to my setup, except I have a 4x4 area, and a 600w light. You should do very well with a 400 in that space!

It looks like you may want to re-consider the odor issue. If you are growing the sticky icky, then piping the ventilation into the area beneath you will make your whole house smell like a gigantic bud as the vapors permeate every tiny crack as the heat you are pumping into the basement rises. If you are growing legally, then I say HELLS YA! - but if you aren't, then you will definitely want to invest in some effective odor control.

Look into getting a cool tube. They are cheap, and they work VERY well. Heat control becomes nearly a non-issue with one of these. You do need a good fan to blow through the tube, so look into that a bit before you make a final decision. :)

The only other thing I'd change off-hand is the pump. That one will take a long time to fill a 3x3 tub. I like to use pumps with 2 to 3 times more gph rating with that 1/2 kit.

My $.02..

Thanks for the advice guys. Ya ive already ordered the pump but I was doing some math before hand. 36"x36"x4" (length of tray x width x how far you fill the tray) take the total which in this case is 5184 and multiply that number by .0031 = 16.0704 gallons to fill the tray. (honestly dont know how deep to flood the tray but it's the 7" deep botanicare one. is 4 inches enough.... any help?). At just over 3 gallons per minute id be lookin at like 5 minutes 20 seconds or so to fill the tray is that too long?
(sorry metric system people aka rest of the earth. I have no idea what the conversion is for you)

ya the 16 gallons to fill would be with nothing in the tray. So the flood time would be more like 4 - 4.5 minutes with the plants taking up room, is that too long to flood or is that cool?

Also looking for information on the actual execution of this system. ie. how often per day do I flood? during both light and dark cycle or if not which? how big of pots? what type of grow medium? Also looking for good deals on digital pH and TDS meters. I appreciate any and all help.

Ya that could be an issue seeing as I'm living in an old house that was gutted to make 4 apartments. but I'm gonna wait and find out. This basement is pretty nasty and has some moldy smells comin from it but it's nothing you can notice in the house or outside now that they'e put up a locked door in the doorway leading down there.
