hey guys this is my 3rd grow. im growing 3 nothernlight plants
They have been growing in soil under 2 x 600watt lights since the 15th of march. and are due to be harvested around 7-10th of june.

Wondering what you guys think to the plants and any hints or tips would be welcome. always welcome critisism as a learning curb :).

These pics was taken today they have currently been flowering since Around 4-5th Of April.

Plant Specs - Around 34-38inch tall - 3foot wide...
They will look rather scabby on some pictures as we tend to prune fan leaves every few days to allow energy to concentrate on the budding :D

Enjoy the pics.

1st picture is pre flowering.
Rest of pictures are 3weeks into flowering

Nice grow man. Is removing fan leaves something you always do? How is that working out for ya? Do you seem to get more buds?

Some here say not to remove the fan leaves. I have two plants. One I have trimmed a lot and the other I have not trimmed much just to see what the difference will be in the end. I got a big growth spurt from the trimmed plant. It also developed some pods. Looked like nuts. I thought it went hermie but appears to be only flowers. the pods have hairs coming out. No POLLEN! I hope!!!! lol

How do you like the NL? Easy to grow? Good smoke?

Thanx mate :)

Well past 2grows we did we removed some fan leaves only the stupidly big leaves that block alot of the lower bud getting direct light so its worth trying as a test. but yeah we tend to get alot more bud this way due to all the energy been concentrated into the budding insted of wasting away on growing the current leaves.

and so far its very easy to grow. they grow so quick infact to quick lol hit the lights in 2week.

edited : i would advise as a first time to only take the fan leaves off that are over half the size of your hand

I am like you. I thought removing fan leaves shading buds would be the thing to do. But I have read on RIU that a lot of people say don’t remove them. They are the plants solar panels in affect that gives the plants energy to grow. They both seem to make sense so that is why I am doing my experiment. Just to see what works for me to get the best results.

How tall does NL get?

Looks like it works GOOD for you! REP+++

they look healthy.
I would have done it differently from the beginning - I'd get at least 12 clones to start with under that much light. I'd top \ FIM \ LST the plants to get even height of colas so all the colas get light. I'd remove the lower buds as they requier too much energy while that energy can be used for the top flowers. (lower buds usually aren't as good as the upper ones).

You'r plants look well and it seems you will get some great results, but I think you can get more yield with the points mentioned above.

topping now won't help because you've ended the vegitative state.
cutting off lower buds should be done each week of flowering, since the first one. you probably would like to remove new growth as well.
you can do that up to 3 weeks before harvest as later you will just remove smokable buds. you'd rather harvest the upper part and give the lower part another week of flowering at 3 weeks before harvest.
