i grow in 5gal... but i just picked up a bunch of 3gal to start doing half and half and see how much difference, if there is any... 5gal fabric pots take up a lot of room...

I grew in 2 gallon air pots (actually 1.2 gallon) and they grew over 2 feet tall and yielded over 4 ozs from 4 plants. Air pots are great give them a try...

Yea you can not go wrong with air pots. That's all I use now. Their 3 gallon is actually just over 2 gallons and will go a bigger and healthier plant then a normal 3 gallon.

nothing wrong with 5 gal
i agree that a gallon a month is a good starting point
BUT i see a very big difference in the same strain that i have grown many times in a 3 gal
is now acting totally different in 5 and 7 gal buckets
size is larger and for some reason they are starting to flower in week 8
and its not just one plant doing it

When would they normally start to flower ? ? ? in what size ? ? ?

In a 3 gallon they almost always flower in a month for me.

I use 5 gallon only now. The difference is size. They get much larger in 5 gallons. My current nlxbb is now 62ish days old and no pom yet although she is moving fast and should pom out by the 15th.

Things vary of course but I'm lucky to get a foot and a half of no stretch in a 3 gallon. In 5s all my plants are 3 foot +

If only I could run HPS.. I'd be in heaven.

Don't think I've even read the month per gallon thing before but it sounds about right cause I'm not expecting her to finish till October.

I did a pot test this time too I have a 5 gall plant warrior poot a 5 gallon root pouch and just a plain Jane black 5 gall pot and all are about the same.

I am coming to the conclusion that I dislike root pouches though. They cause clumping and hard spots seems to slow roots.

Wanna try an air pot just don't feel like paying 25 bucks for a pot. I have great results with plant warrior pots tho.

go with 3 gallon plenty good if your useing coco or similiar media id fill the bottom with chunky perlite so you can have a good drain an also roots will thrive threw it
