36 hour light schedule

A friend said something to me about doing a 36 hour light schedule instead of a 24 hour one, and it would help the plants to grow faster. I was just kinda wondering like could this work, and if it could, would there be an advantage like would it really help it grow faster or would it just be different but still grow at the same rate? i do have a clone that I am trying to grow(hasn't taken root yet) that I have under 24/0 right now and if its worth a shot i might try it, but since this is a clone of my first grow I wouldnt have anything to compare my results to. If I were to try this, what kind of light schedule should I use for veg? 18/6 would translate to 27/9

it seems like there has been alot of talk about light cycles lately so I thought i would bring this up...

LOL at first i was wondering how you managed to add an extra 12 hours onto the day...

ive read that strange lighting schedules can increase stress on the plant. im not sure if i believe this, but it supposedly increases the chances of it being a hermie.

Ya thats the main thing i'm afraid of. I figure to someone who has alot of plants/grow space this might be something worth experimenting with?
