35 days into flowering (wtf?)..pics inside

Alright ive been stumbling across grow journals for the past 2 hours or so.

Which made me stumped Because i'm at day 35 of flowering, and im no where
as close as some people on this forum.

I'm using FFOF soil with added perlite.
And im also using foxfarm nutes (tiger bloom, big bloom,grow big)

The plant is looking super healthy, and has a beautiful tint of green
with a lovely top cannopy.

The main stem/stalk is as wide as a flashlight or two-fingers together.
and is currently sitting in a huge 10gal pot.

These pics were takin almost a week and a half ago.











The plant has grown 5inches since these pictures..and is looking strong..
But why is it taking so long to flower?.. the plant took approx. 2and a half weeks to just show sex. I'm completely baffled here and have no idea what im doing wrong

The temp is at 75 and doesnt get any higher than 80 with the lights on
and nothing below 60 during lights-out. with the humidity ranging from 30-50%

I'm using a 400wat HPS, which i forgot to mention.

The strain is from nirvana, called "swiss cheese"..

Why is it taking soo long for bud development?
Im completely confused and have no idea what is going on.

The ph is 6.5 , I give the plant water every 3-4days and feed ever other watering.

I didnt post in the "plant problems" section because i dont see anything wrong with the plant physically, and is growing bushier/taller every day and looking fantastic, But im worried, have any of you experienced anything like this?

A friend of mine has been flowering as long as i have and already has a decent size cola ontop of the plant..

I can't stop thinking about it, and i keep looking at it every hour asking myself why its taking soo long.

It doesn't look like you are doing anything really wrong. Some plants just take longer than others. I have 2 going now. 1 is going to be done at about 11 weeks of 12/12, the other is all sativa and may take as long as 14 weeks. Your girl looks real healthy. I'd relax and do your thing and let her do her thing.

theres no light in the room whatsoever, since i boarded up the windows with MDF

when i sit in that room with the lights off, i cant even see anything infront of me.

as far as the comment above me...ive seen soem grows that by the 5th week

They have already developed colas the size of my finger..so i really dont know.

However you are probably right, anyone else willing to drop their .2cents?

Looks like it is "Budding" I would wait another week .......

I viewed your thread and conclude that yours look like mine right now, at the beggining of week 2. I hope mine dont look like that in another 15 days I feel your pain bc I think mine are growing slow...

Yeah, everything looks right, so the only answer I can come up with is light leaks during your dark period.
That plant should have very clear flowers at that age and size, given 12/12.
When did you fix the window ?

My bad dude. I have a light leak =D but I dont think it produces anymore light than the moon would... its like a little bit of light shinin through the two blankets I put over my window, + I have a blanket hung over the open door of my closet and the other side is thumbtacked to the wall during the dark period. I think I might try fixing it though even though im positive its no brighter than moonlight.

One thing I have learned over the very short period of time that I have been doing this is that patience is key!

When you pop a plant from seed, you aren't the one deciding when it's ready to flower. The plant looks pretty nice. if it showed preflowers at 2 and a half weeks and this is what it looks like at 5 weeks, then it looks right on target.

how long did you veg this plant?

That is clearly an indica plant. You clearly have light leaks sir. Mine are the same size in height and age and they are donks. COLAS

chekc for hairs. if theres hairs its budding

another thing you need to think about is its not even actually considered flowering untill its sexed so even if it took 2 weeks to sex that dont count as (flowering time). i dont start counting my days untill i see pistils!Gl brother im sure shes gonna start flowering much more!

This is genetics. Does size really matter?

First, notice that Nirvana states it is an outdoor strain so it's gonna take longer for the grow. Second, the one review on there said that it took longer than 8 weeks to flower so it is probable normal. There is nothing wrong except it is not in my tent
