I def think DWC is the way to go, soooo easy and once you buy/build the unit then you won't have to by soil anymore! My train wreck loves it and I know your not supposed to top autos but since it was growing nicely and since I have a bunch of seeds I figure do a little experiment... so I topped it at the 4th node and seems to be doing fine , I topped 2 days ago wish me luck lol hopefully I can scrog it..... not gonna try to SC it though lol
I just popped an auto so I'm curious to see how yours goes, keep me posted on the topping. Still deciding to let her grow and do some LST or to mix some topping in there, first auto for me so no experience on that to go off of.

Nice man!
Well most way not to top an auto because of its life span however it you have a strain that is grow really good then I see no reason to try topping this is an experiment for me lol but since I'm growing in DWC which grows a lot faster and my auto is taken off I wanted to try. Once it rooted in a rapid rooter I transferred to the DWC and started giving it fox farm nutrients big bloom and grow big at 1/8 strength per gallon I am up to 1/4 per gallon now plus I'm adding cal mag at 1/8 of dose per gallon my ph is at 6.2 and water temp is at 72, my seed sprouted on 1/2/17 so that's the date I'm going with from seed to weed! As of today it is 22 days old from sprout. Also I have a grow journal going if interested!

Real quick update on the two 15 day old girls. I started some LST 2 nights ago and they both have responded well. I did some tucking and bending they were both almost flat and now have pretty well stood back up some of the under growth is now exploding nicely. On the Blue Cheese I trimmed one of the big droopy bottom fan leaves! I also doubled the cal mag on the last feeding (12hrs ago) and they both seem to have liked the extra nutes a lot; the colors and stoutness shows. Anyways like I said just a quick update. Thanks everyone!
P.S. Sorry for not turning the lights off before taking pics :/

I just ordered some Flash Seeds Super Autos 10-14 weeks from seed and 200-400 grams per plant. Diesel Haze and Asian Haze they are both sativa dominant. Pretty excited to try those I will be growing DWC with All COB lights I will be starting to buy everything to build my own before my current grow is done.

Cool man if you need any help with where to get parts let me know I build mine for like 40 bucks and I can run like six 5 gallon buckets... that's not including the clay pebbles

Awesome will do! I'm definitely still in the research process, but I know for sure that I am going to build one or multiple that span the whole 4 feet of my tent. It's seems like a pretty lengthy process at least in obtaining all the parts you really want? Anyways I'm going to continue researching and checking out the threads on here. Thanks agian and my budget for the build is $200ish which seems impossible for what I want so kudos to you for building one for 40 bucks.

Where did you get your parts? Also how big is you light?
I got parts from eBay well the pump$27.00 I'm a union painter so that's where I got the five gallon buckets, the air rings I also got from eBay they are like 5-8 bucks each I only got one right now because all the rest are in soil and when I finish with these plants I have a 12 site big boy DWC system I'm going to set up. I think that the clay pellets cost the most but you can look for deals on eBay also the lids I got given to me but if you are doing autos you can use the cheaper 8" or 6" plastic nets just trace it tight onto the lid of the 5 gallon bucket ...you can use 3 gallon buckets there probably cheaper. As for the light I'm using a 600watt MH but i dim it to 400w FYI if you use the 6-8" netted pots you will use less clay pellets saving you ! I did not set up a drain system didn't feel like spending the extra cash since I will be switching to my big boy DWC after this but drain system is cheap . Here's my topped auto at 22 days from sproutIMG_6506.JPG

I may just start by purchasing a few like this it comes with 8" net and pump seems ok for 33 bucks. I want more of a water farm set up with a big reservoir, but I may as well start small and see how it goes. I'm honestly still skeptical about growing Autos and indoors in general lol I'm definitely an outdoor guy.

Yea that's not bad I just like to have one air pump for all can always purchase 2 pumps one for a back up it's nice to have a reservoir my big boy has a 55 gallon one if I were you I would experiment with a couple of them buckets in the reservoir as for nutrients what are you thinking of using
Yea I will be doing lots of experimenting haha and I'm thinking about the general hydroponic flora series performance box? The Flora Series Performance Pack includes: 16 oz. Flora Micro; 16 oz. FloraGro; 16 oz. Flora Bloom; 8 oz. Flora Blend; 8 oz. Liquid KoolBloom; 4 oz. FloraKleen; 1 oz. Rapid Start; 1 oz. Floralicious Plus; 1 oz. pH Test Indicator.

Yea they seem very similar. I'm just in a 2x4x5 right now and will do three buckets at the most maybe only two. I have 3 5 gallon fabric smart pots in there now and it's pretty crowded.

If your doing autos then 3 are fine and if you do 3.5 gallon pots you could squeeze a forth lol .. is it that you don't have the space to set up say a 4x4 tent or bigger because if you do that then you could always scrog and only have to do 1-2 plants with a very nice yield, technically you could set up a scrog in the 2x4 with one plant also and get a bout a half pound just takes a little longer but it's worth it! I'm not talking about with autos however you could set up for autos as well just lst them and place scrog net around 14-16 inches above base of plants

Topped 2 days ago and she's had no problems, but not an auto so no worries on time, it's just fun manipulating her and seeing how she reacts. Which has been very good so far(original amnesia)I think the dwc makes a huge difference in recovery time.IMG_1231.JPG Lol not a man..but anyways when I started buying all the stuff, the ppl at the hydro store kept insisting on soil but as I had already purchased most of the set up I stuck with dwc, it's a little more work but it definitely pays off, I topped a few of my girls and even the next day they were exploding with new growth. Dwc is totally worth it. Besides soil is so messy, and water is free. ( practically)

I got a lot of my stuff off eBay, but watch out for the air ring that's black with little metal washers on iTunes think it's called spider by modular hydro I got 3 and they all completely stopped working after the second res change, killed one of my plants and they said there's nothing they can do about it, they said it had to do with my nutes, bs if you ask me. Anyways just a heads up to anyone who buys off eBay
