thanks for checking out my thread! can`t seem to get the quality mj im looking for so im researching my first grow. looking to grow the most potent strains for fun and profit. can blow whatever i want on gear but if the electric goes over $300 a month the wife will flip out. so...am using 2 1000 hps bulbs with 2 aircooled hoods over 6x7 sealed flower room with split ac and dehumidified and co2 . veg with 250 mh and t5 over cloner in the same room. have researched many growing techniques and cant decide which method would yield the greatest yield . looke at aero, under current, bubbleponics and dwc. don`t want to do soil. like the idea of a perpetual grow in a scrog. i guess the research question is at the end of the year which method would produce the most yield. thanks for your time farmers! i promise to make you proud.

I've seen some sick results using fogger aero sytems. Have heard some different things on maintenance of them and getting them tuned, but when I was looking at this the equipment was reasonably newish technology. Perhaps it has advanced by now. Its like a ferrari tho, either you get it to work and its insane or you chuck money at it till you get pissed. Some ppl are using multiple technologies together using say both aero and fog.

Maybe someone here has some successful hands on experience. This is just something I've always wanted to do when I had time. Most likely no matter what you pick it will produce better stuff than you buy, since its been handled properly and is fresh and not had a chance to degrade by the time you get it.

Welcome to RIU

Have you purchased all this gear already? The stuff you've mentioned is everything you need and more. Fairly advanced equipment, in fact. You won't add 300 to your electric bill, but close.

2 1000w lights on 12/12 will pull between 30-200 bucks in power every 30 days, if the cost per kilowatt hour is between 4 cents and 26 cents.

the average cost per kilowatt hour, 14 cents, will pull 110 dollars per 30 days, 12 hours on 12 hours off, assuming you got 2 1000w lights.

add the 250w metal halide, on 18 hours on, 6 hours off, for 30 days will pull an extra 20 bucks.

that's ~140 bucks in electricity per month, you have to add in the maintenance fees, bullshit fee, and other fees that get tacked on there, that's the last 10 bucks.

**got my numbers from sunlight supply's product catalog, they have a handy little power cost chart.

the rookie greatly appreciates the input! nice of you to take the time and am looking for someone who has the "wisdom that comes from experience".
am sold on a few things...
1.sealed flower room with environmental controls. 2 1000w hps lights will cover @ 40 square feet. totally sealed room (plastered and insulated, silly amounts of caulking and an insulated exterior door, walls covered in mylar). want to air cool two vented hoods. what are xxl hoods and any advice on the best vented hoods?
2.am almost sold on a diy aero system suppercropping a scrog but am open to suggestions. am curious if anyone has info on how an undercurrent system would perform in a grow area like that.
thanx again guys
