i was gonna run a 315w cmh in a 2x2 grow tent but my tent was not tall enough and in that size of a space i would have probably ran into massive heat issues lmfao.
i have ran a 400watt 10kmh in a 2x4 before with no issues
but the light was air cooled.
honestly with non air cooled light your tent needs too be tall or your screwed.

Well, I messed up a bit. The tent is the AC Infinity CLOUDLAB 632, so it is actually 36"×24"×72". This calculates to 52.5 watts per sq. ft. Your 2x4 with your 400w light would calculate to 50w per sq. ft., so it sounds like I shouldn't have an issue either. What was your ventilation for that setup? I have a 6" inline fan exhausting outside, with 4" intake from the room the tent is in. Do you remember what your temperatures were like? Thank you for replying.

I used to run a 315 in a 3x3, the sides didn't get enough light IMO. I also used a 400w Retro White CMH in 3x3 and it was a bit better. You can have the 315W CMHs surprisingly close to the plants. 36"x24"x72" is perfect IMO.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I think you are probably right, perfect light for this tent. Was sold the 315w cmh with a 4x4 tent from local grow store. Another example of a grow store selling whatever they can to you, even if items are incompatible.

gl with your grow boss man what cmh bulb will you be using in your setup? also what cmh ballast / reflector do you have? sorry for dumb question I'm just curious about your setup lol

I have Philips bulbs, a 4200k for veg, and a 3100k (Master Green Power Elite Agro)for flower. im looking into your ballast / reflector thingy and bro that thing looks awesome! i am looking into iluminarlighting's cmh bulbs and they have a 10k cmh maybe you can do 4k for veg 3k for flower and 10k for the last week or 2 or 3 <3 :3 i dunno just a idea

it will probably do nothing special adding the 10k at the end lol. i just love using 10k bulbs in flower cuz of the crazy amount of UV they emit, im wierd lol.
