315W CFL grow

Those roots are from the male plant that I killed off. Yes, I have airstones in soil. They work more effectively the more water you use so you can drench the plants and they react by growing huge.

Yeah BC I don't really get it either, but it looks like it's working for him. If nothing else it hasn't caused any problems yet so it can't be bad for the plants. Guess once the plant gets harvested we'll see if it looks like the roots responded in a kindly fashion.

I just found out that the nutes that I bought for my coco grow are soil safe, so I put some bloom nutes in today with a splash of superthrive and hygrozyme. I did so at about 5:30, so hopefully within the next day or two I should see some change in the growth. I hope.

My female has now been under 12/12 for 2 weeks and 4 days. The buds are starting to grow, and my plant is continuing to get really big. I can't wait to see what happens when the new nutes kick in. I had to lst the main stem down today because it was a good 5 inches taller than everything else and I didn't want to screw over the little ones near the main stem. I'll let the pics speak for themselves:

As of tonight, 8 seedlings have started in my little solo cup box grow. I came up with a design last night after taking a bong rip, a design that might allow for a really simple pseudo hydro grow. Take a 18gal rubbermaid and drill holes in the bottom for drainage and place on top of a shallow rubbermaid to catch the overflow. Take pebbles and spread them along the bottom of the rubbermaid. On top place 3 12in airstones and cover with a mix of coco, perilite and vermiculite. Then place the plants in this little indoor garden patch and watch them grow! What do you guys think of that idea?

In order to get a better spectrum on my main girl, I put in two new 27W Blue CFLs, I'm pretty sure they are 5000k and I added a 25W UV CFL to increase potency. The flowers are really going on the plant, and KZ came over today and helped me LST the plant down because it had just grown way too tall and way too big. The plant is so complicated now :wall:
A couple weeks ago I gave KZ some mid seeds i had. We germinated 20, most of them took and he did not have enough room to keep them all. Today, we also took off all the pollen sacks off of my male and killed him off so what i did was I adopted 4 tiny seedlings and started them in a small DWC box in the same chamber the male was in. I sprayed water not to worry. I'm going straight into flower and I'm using a res with a little more than half a gallon in it. I'm using superthrive, hygrozyme and botanicare pure blend pro bloom. The 68W is still in their looking down on them with love, extremely bright love. Here's some pics of everything. I also took a pic of my 15 cup solo grow. 8 Are showing, no more new ones.

Well in the mail, came a bill for the electricity. I live in an apartment and the utilities are included. I totalled up my wattage cost and its upwards of 700W. I have to cut some of my programs for now.

looking good man, open that bag od male pollen to let them dry up and not mold if you know what i mean. and 700 xtra watts should not be that much extra cash. i was running around 1000 watts and my bill only went up about 20 bucks.

Actually I've been crunching numbers and I think that leaving things as thy are is just fine. The 700w only costs like 30$ where I am. Ill just pay the extra, unles my roommates are just pounding out watts on amps or tvs.

well toasters can use up to 1500 watts when on and same with micro waves and small space heaters. if you try to mabye cut down on some other electric uses then you might not even have to pay extra cash. even switching all the house bulbs to flouro bulbs will save money

Well I found out that phone, computer and Ipod chargers are considerably huge wattage and run a large portion of the day. I also went around and unplugged anything that isn't too terribly useful. KZ and I figured out that my wattage was somewhat closer to 800 or so in terms of growing power. I'm not gonna have to have all of it running for too much longer, so hopefully this all won't matter. I can't wait til I have a house and don't have to worry about other people's usage all that much. I decided not to cut any programs though, just any electrical usage aside from it. I might take cold showers every once in a while to keep the bill down.

On a lighter note, however, KZ and I counted 16 tops yesterday, its fucking insane. The flowers actually look really pretty and I'm super excited to smoke the shit out of it.

Also, two threads to check out 1: the funniest thread on RIU IMO: https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/104395-100-watt-incandescent.html
2nd: This is just toasted awesome with plain cream cheese and lox. https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/394643-220-plants-omega-garden-5.html

Have you decided on whether or not to seed any part of your female with some of the collected pollen? Are you going to give the rest of the new seeds you planted some more time to sprout or just scrap them and focus on the ones you already have?

I'm keeping them and cutting my personal energy usage otherwise by a lot. I only have to run the big guys until the main baby is done, then I'll put through the rest of the plants and by then I'll be able to go outdoors. PLANS SON!!!!

Bump,
Hey, does anyone have any info on molasses? I've been reading up on it and have no real evidence one way or the other on whether it works.

use unsulpherd molasses. it is best used in organic grows really though, it has a tiny amount of micro nutes and it is pretty much just a carbo load for the plant. most nute company's make stuff like humbolts homey, and AN's bud candy and those are more then 90 percent molasses. i have used it and did not see a huge increase in any thing but i will continue to use cuz it helps the soil and microbes.
id say use some on one plant and none on the other and see what the difference is

Not to get off track here, but I've been reading through your LST thread mcpurple, still only like halfway through so far  just wanted to say that it has been a wealth of knowledge for me and is the main reason I tried LST on my current grow. Hope things have been going better for you since where I've read up to so far (last September) and plus rep for everyone you've helped man.

I second that^.

I was planning on using blackstrap molasses, I've heard that molasses helps the nutrients already in the soil and plant bind better and therefore are more readily accepted. I guess we'll see though, no harm in trying
