Whats going on brothers and sisters of RiU, Id like to start off by giving a thanks out to everyone that is kind enough to take the time and share your knowledge and experiences. To have such resources at hand is absolutely gold. Im not new to rollitup but have lost my original login creds, so ive created a new persona to go by. Im Johndeere and I hope learn with the best, and maybe help others along the way as well.

This will be my first indoor grow! Im currently entering 4 weeks after the seedlings broke ground. There random bagseed, Not sure of the strains but for me to keep a seed around it had to come from some good stuff. Ive bought 300w's total of cfls, in the 2700k, 5000k, 6500k spectrums and plan to add another 100-150 watts of 2700k upon switching to flowering.

I introduced Bigbloom at almost 1/4 strength at 2weeks, and at 3 weeks feed at 1/2 strength big bloom and a 1/4 teaspoon of grow big. Yesterday(2 days before week4) I foliar feed them less then a 1/4 teaspoon of grow big and a couple drops of soap in a 1ltr spray bottle ( they loved it! ) I also lst'd the three bigger plants, But im starting to think ive done it to early. But wth this is a learning process :)

My grow room sits at around 75-81 degrees around the clock. No temp issues so far. As soon as payday rolls around again im going to buy the stuff needed to test and adjust the ph, Ive only used filtered tap water and i have a feeling it may be sending my ph out of wack.

Btw anyone know if browndirtwarrior still posts here?

Well today I decided to get rid of all the clamps and build myself a Reflector to house all my cfls. I used the foam insulation panels that they use to insulate garage doors. Its far more durable then I first thought. I wrapped it in an emergency blanket and secured to the panel with double sided duct tape. Ill post pics shortly!

The girls are doing ok, One has nute burn, im guessing from splashing, or some sort of deficiency, its starting to form black spots. The stunted girl is responding very well to foliar feeding and is starting to stretch her leaves. The others are flourishing!

update on the girls, they're doing well. still chugging along threw veg, I think the biggest issue so far is me not being able to just leave them alone. im trying to kick myself into the habit of just leaving them alone :) Heres a new vid.

I got a question for anyone out there that may read this, My temps under the lights is around 87-95 degrees, the room temp is 79-83 degrees. Are these temps safe? I have a fan blowing the heat towards the outtake fan. I keep my lights about 2-3 inches from my plants at all times. I think I have also figured out what the brown dead looking spots are, there caused from the PH being a bit to high. ( or a manganese deficiency)

Im thinking about splicing into the ac vent in the room and run it into the grow room. I dont want to pull the lights any further than 3 inches from the plants, but atm i may have to until i get the heat under control. im able to get the room temp to 75, but the temp under the lights is still high 80s. its been like this since ive installed the reflector. im thinking about maybe adding holes to let the heat pass threw it. i have a fan blowing from the side but it doesnt seem to be helping

I'd say the heat build up is due to the reflector. You could remove it entirely. Also you could remove some lights. A better solution would be to use some ducting to have some cool air blowing directly into the tent. I can tell you from experience that it works to get temps down. You do have an extraction fan to suck the hot air out of the tent right?

I have an extraction fan, but no intake atm, the closet isnt sealed so it draws air threw the closet doors. I have a box fan on the side of the plants and reflector pushing the heat from the lights towards the extraction fan. Tomorrow im going to purchase some ducting, and two duct splitters. im going to splice into the a/c vent thans in the room the closets in to pull in cold air, and splice the exhaust into the hotwater heater exhaust ducting, or maybe the bathroom exhaust duct.

Summer is here and its supposed to be hot tomorrow Hope after the new installs this will bring the temps down alot in the grow room, and the heat in the house as well.

Ive read in some articles that some strains take well to higher heats, and being that the growing season where im at has times where its in the 100-113 degrees outside for weeks at a time. Now assuming I have some local strains that indeed tolerate these temps, would my current temps be less damaging then first thought? because my plants dont seem to be stressed from heat. need to buy some new batteries for the camera will have new pics soon.

Hey folks time for another update! Where in week 5 going on week 6 after the seedlings broke soil. I dont know wth is going on with them but almost every 8 hours i have to check on them to make sure they havent grown into the lights! Growth is starting to go crazy fast. I I may be feeding them to much GrowBig, the leaves are starting to turn really really green, No burning yet, just really dark green, Should i turn down the amount I'm feeding them?

Ive also managed to control the heat issues, I was venting the exhaust into the same room as I was pulling fresh air in from, so the temps kept rising and rising, Im now pulling air in from another room, and its made all the difference temp under the lights is constant 85degrees which i can live with, the closet temp is 79-80 so the plants have a nice cool breeze.

Heres a vid srry for the crap quality folks, its all I have to work with atm >< Let me know what yall think! And anyone know of any dispensaries in cali that have true strawberry cough clones/seeds? I would love to get my hands on some. Or some Super Silver Nova? bongsmilie Prop 215 compliant :bigjoint:

Well i have the lights 2-3 inches from the plants at all times, just raise them for the video/watering etc. the runt is the furthest from the light but im hoping he'll stretch up to the lights, but its not lol. Do i need them closer than 2 inches?

I was just reading a bit on injecting dyes into plants and stumbled across a thread discussing with little info a grower who injects his plants with nutes rather then delivery in the normal methods. anyone have more info on this, the article I was reading had nothing really other then " It was the dankest smoke ive ever smoked" type crap?

iv never heard of injecting and it sounds crazy, i dont want no smack head weed :cuss: lol 2-3 inches is ok, i had mine about 2cm away and they did ok for cfls i suppose but hps all the way for me now, i will never go back to cfl tbh there ok to veg but crap to flower and also in your vid your plants look like they are having too much N and need cal/mag bongsmilie good luck...

I was thinking I might be giving them to much N, Wasnt sure thou, I know their supposed to be green but damn there really green. Im gettin paid this friday Ill pick up some calmag plus and start supplementing them asap. Thanks for the info!

And yeah as far as the injecting of nutes go, I dont plan on messing with it. Cant find any positive or informative info related to the injection of nutes into a cannabis plants stalk. Its practiced on trees and other plants, not cannabis thou. I guess it falls into the category of " if it aint broke, Dont fix it"

epsom salts are cheap and will help, 1tbl spoon per gallon of water :bigjoint: and as for too much N your leaves curl down as yours are in the vid and the dark green is meant to be a lighter green

Quick Video Update :

Last watering I watered with 1 gal of water with 1 tablespoon epsom salt, there doing good but leave haven't straightened out yet. The skinny plant that I fIM'd is doing good, 4 tops are growing outwards. once they establish themselves a bit more I'm switching to flowering!

Nice setup! You gotta give that cutting a little more time, theres no way its growing after 24 hours. It will take a few days to die if its going to and you'll want to make some sort of clear dome greenhouse thing over that cutting.
