Hey guys, new to the growing scene here :leaf: and ive got a couple of questions id need answered:roll:.

LED-light: Galaxyhydro 300w LED growlight by Roleadro (link can be provided if needed)
Color: 9 band
Strains: 2 California Orange-Bud & one Lemon Haze

So ive currently got my seedlings under a 25w blue light spec bulb (first picture), ive used it before in seedling stage and it worked pretty well.So my question is when I should consider putting them under my LEDs. I was planning to let them grow for 1-2 weeks under the 25w bulb but im concerned about weather it will put out enough light for 3 seedlings or not and i dont want to risk them not making it.

Is it okay to put them under the leds now, if so at what distance ? Will they be able to handle the light or will it result in the plant getting damaged?

I will try to keep this thread updated as far as i can and any tips and or other methods of help are warmly welcomed.

Join me on this journey and with any kind of a helping hand we should be able to get these babys running.:-D

Hey! :)

I'm not running LED but HPS and what I did with my first grow (still going...) is that i germinated them, then put it under my hps light with it being quite a bit further away than normal. I didn't have any issues what so ever with this method. Mind you, I'm running a 400W hps bulb atm.

Peace
Cheers for the early reply mate I'm pretty sure Ill get this going pretty well with a forum like this backing me up !
Here some more information about my bulb i use in the seedling stage: its an exo-terra natural light bulb with round about 6700k colortemp. , ive seen other people use it and so far thing are looking good.

Pictures to keep the thread updtated will follow in the next day or so:peace:

Germination-------------24-30inches
Vegetable -- --------18-24 inches
Flower------12-18 inches.
I have used my MarsHydro 600 in all stages of growth. I have two 600's for flower. Works really well IMO. I also grow with the MarsHydro LED panels. You can check out my blog and see how they do. I have pictures from seedling to beginning of flower so far. Well I haven't updated it a couple of weeks but you will get the idea.

Thanks a lot for these early answers, im overwhelmed considering ive only uploaded my thread 5hrs ago :o!

Thanks for the lightdistances Venom ! I've chosen to keep them under the 6700k bulb for a week or so and then ill be jumping into using the LEDs at your provided distances, cant wait to see the results.
Hope I can get a couple of experienced LED-users to join me on this journey and keep an eye on what I'm doing right or wrong. Lets hope we can contribute towards some healthy plant growth guys :leaf:;)

might wanna pick up 1 more light, i have one of those, and you might need a little more light for 3 plants, but they're not terrible for the price, and they dont get hot.

CFLs can be a good " starter " for your seedlings . Not so harsh for these seedlings.

I put my seedlings under CFL ( 5000k ) at least one per bulb.

Then add another to start plant. ( 5000k - 6400k )

Then to the LED PANEL :
Mars Hydro 600 series II ( 2 ) - (2) G8 Bloom Booster ( deep red )

300w LED will be ideal for seedlings and first few weeks of veg. I grew under one 300w for 7 weeks and compared to its sister next door in the other tent under two 300w LED the difference is massive. I know its not one of your questions, but for anyone wondering one 300w is jus not enough to grow the full girl. I only had three 300w so thats why done it as an experiment. Mars can't be beaten on price and quality when talking about the LED approach. Those 600w grows look nice budzBuddha i like it brother!

How much heat does LED give? I started using cfl (whack imho) then went onto 600w hps (way too hot bright for my needs)

I'm on a 250hps and its serving me well I'm just worried about how good it'll be for my buds.

Also is LED cheaper to run then hps?

In my room it is 18degrees celsius. In my tent with one 300w LED, small fan running and the extractor it sits about 23-23 degrees celsius. When i add in another 300w LED the temps jump to about 27-28-29 degrees celsius dependant on the outside room temp which fluctuates between 18/19/20 . So each light seems to add around 3-4 degrees of heat to the tent.

I am loving LED so far..... But i am running 550+ watts for 2 plants. Each plant has it own 600W (278+/- true watts). My LED's do throw heat but im sure its much less that the HPS.

Iv got a mars 300 with 4 seedlings in 10L pots rite now and a Mars 192 Reflector (394 true watt) still in the box, & a mars ll 900 (420 true watt) in the mail.
The seedlings are doing good besides the 2 I fertilized too early.
I will join you on this journey into the smokey stars lol :))

So far so good.
Added a second bulb since one did turn out to be a little too weak for three plants. On the first and second picture you can see how my first cali orange plant is getting on, as far as i am concerned its looking pretty healthy so far. the other two plants (Cali on the far left and lemon in the center) arent evolved quite as far yet since i put their seeds in the soil round about 1.5 days later, they had a little bit of a strech going so i knew pretty early that one bulb wouldnt be enough and got the second one. From the point where i put in the second bulb growth was looking quite a lot better than before. I'll probably be giving them another week-10 days under the bulbs before ill be switching to led, just want to make sure the little fellas are strong and healthy enough for the LEDs. Also Venom I cant view your blog either due to not having permission, would be delited if you could give me permission to have a look around. Next update will be there in the next couple of days, until then happy growing :weed:

Double the bulbs per plant as a minimum. They will kickstart better.

Single bulb 150w ( 5000k or 6400k ) with reflector for emerging seedling.
( CFL light comes from sides and will not be concentrated without a reflector of some kind. ) you will radiate light away from plant if bulb just hangs.

For " Early Growth " ( week or two ) USE 2 per plant :

Simple right ?
