3 week clones are starting to droop amd curl!! Oh No!

I just got these from a co-op and after xfer them to my hydro system they seem to be droopy and discolored. i have just 5.8 ph water no nutes and ive been using a 400w hps (i know not best for vegging) for 24 hours should i maybe cut the light to 18-6? maybe add some 1/4 strength nutes? any help would be greatly helpful

well first off theyre clones so they had nutes from being on the mother. and when youre in hydro you always have nutes in your water.....id do half strength and bump it up quick considering they have already had nutes through them..droppy is from being over watered.. what kinda of medium were they in before?

A 400w should be about a foot away from the plant tops with adequate cooling. Clones get no ferts until they start growing roots and then you can start with 1/4-1/2 strength depending on the fertilizer.

i added a 1/2 strength mix of foxfarm grow big and i cut the lights to 18/6. im starting to see some roots sprouting out the bottom of the netting pots and they look healthier. any other advice would be great

The one foot away reccomendation was for rooted plants btw. Once a clone is well rooted, you'll want to cut off the leaves that discolored during the cloning process. That way you'll be able to notice any new discolorations and other symptoms as soon as they pop up (if).

Clones root best with at least 8hrs of darkness but once roots are growing, you can switch to 24/0 unless you want to encourage more root growth.

All of them look ready to be topped once rooted, if you plan to do any pruning.

i did a little pruning and topped them leaving about 20%. heres some pics. ive got a grow journal thread going too. i really appreciate all of the advice! its been really fun. tommorrow will be 1 week and they arent dead so merry christmas to me! monday im gonna drain my res and refill with full strength nutes. i am also getting a ppm meter with some xmas monies hehe.

My advice to you is to cover your dwc box with tin-foil dull side out to help keep the temps down a bit. Things look good, you probably had a bit of transplant shock when you put them in and it took them some time to get over it.
