3 ton Mini-Split move.

I'm moving my 3 tone mini split by Ideal Air. Has anyone set one up and then moved it? Can I just screw tight the valves so there's no leak and move it? I'm looking into it before i move it and lose all my refrigerant.
I just wanted some real world experience.

Ideal Air mini's are a little more user friendly when it come's to set up and hopefully move.

Think you need to pump it down.Close high side valve and watch the suction line pressure, should pump down to
a vacuum. Then close suction line.Freon is now in Condenser.
When you hook the line set back up,you will need to evacuate line set.

Nevermind, I just closed the valves and moved it. Seemed ok, guess will see when i fire it up. Ideal Air did a great job on these units as for as self installation goes.

You will need to evacuate the lines, when you install. Also, you will need to check the charge, you lost freon doing it that way!

Those quick connect lines sets are known to leak too.Make sure to get them tight.
Freon has oil in it,so if you hook it back up and its not cooling, in most cases there will be a oily spot
where it is leaking!
If you do not evacuate or blow lines you will have air in the system.

What did they say to do?
They just said to close the valves. Which doesn't fully make sense to me, cause i know there was freon charged up the line.
but they said dont worry. From what i know having had other mini splits installed your sounded correct.
But i still have to set it up, so I will install tomorrow and let you know how it went.

Thanks,

You can get bye with a set of gages and freon. Before opening valves blow freon thru the lowside out highside. This will get the air out, then open lowside then highside.
Let me know how it comes out.

Been Thinking,if you have no gages...Just crack the low side valve don't open just enough to get pressure CLOSE ,then open the valve stem...a little on high side bleeding it, then re tighten,Not talking about the valve the valve core.Like on a tire the valve stem ,this should remove the non-condensables.

It is best to pull a vacuum,on the system,To remove the non-condensables.You lost the charge in the line set,So depending on length of said lines,Your gonna have to reset the charge for best cooling capacity.
Np,I hope this helps ya.
