2x8 tent

Hey guys, long time lurker, haven't posted much since I dropped my journal couple weeks after starting being sketched out and lazy lol. anyway I learned how to harvest about an ounce a month out of my 26.5T pc grow, running a two plant perptual. ( obviously this isn't enough but none the less a ounce grown is a ounce not purchased!) Alright now, for the good stuff so after about two years of dreaming & creaming of ops like all the RIU legends I've learned a ton from every last member I've ever taken the time to read there post or journal. I finally got approved for my own home mortgage ))) I got approved for enough to get a good house in a great location! And my gf is giving the green light to expand off the pc case. So I'm positive I'd be a single man if I just turned one whole room into a tent so I decided to start small. One room in the basement will be my office for my computer/futon and dog bedroom for our gorgeous amazingly smart German shephard (100% black till she turned 8 weeks now she has color but the only one in the whole litter that ended up with very smooth long coat!) So back to it, I've got a decent sized room with a pin enter lock door handle (which is 100% more for my computers, ipads Ect than for my grow op lol ) and in the closet is a 2x8ish grow space... So instead of just going out and getting a bulky 4x4 tent I was just wondering, if anyone knew of a 2x8 tent? Or a bigger stealth cab I can base some design plans off of?

Please if anyone could take 5 minutes of your day and just give me a couple options you run or think I should do. Obviously I don't have a lot of restrictions I don't live in cali never gets hotter than 90 degrees full summer and I have no problems running some ducting threw the curling the the attic and I don't have a lot of restrictions other than its illegal here and I'm conservative, I will save money where it.can be saved even though money isn't a problem and I don't want an entire room for growing, I'd love to grow a pound to a pound and a half every two months when I have two tents fully running veg and flower!

Ah yes, sorry first off I'm typing this on my touch screen phone driving from Cincinnati home ( girlfriend is driving I'm safely in the passenger seat typing ) anyway I have thought of the 3x3 I'm just trying to plan, while planning for the future, this is my Passion I learn fast its not about the smoke for me obviously growing in a mini pc case for 2 years learning what I could with what I had. But at this point I would like to know what its like to grow on at least a "normal" sized grow op and make the fruits of my harvest worth the wait.

What do you think about at first a 3x3 or 2x4 running set of 3/2 plants put in every week or two for a perpetual set up? Would that be comparable to just planting 4-5 in and vegging for 2 weeks ish then flower? I was thinking either smart pots for sog perpetual or waterfarms for a 2 week mini scrog thanks anyone who is in good spirits to help me

2x8 closet? just get 2 2x4 tents or build it yourself. Use half the closet for veg and a mother plant. All you'll need is a 4' T5 setup with 4 bulbs. Take the other half and put in a 600w HPS. You said you only want 1 or 2 plants for yourself. There you go. You'll have plenty of smoke for yourself. You can even stagger it so that you harvest ince a month. Good luck.

Haha ya true I missed the one thing I should have done, I'm gonna go ahead and get the 1 2x4 if I can't rock the 3x3 or 4x4 and ill have a little veg spot outside the tent within the closet with a mom and a cloner. Could you give me 1 or two brands of some good quality inlines/blowers that's are silent compared to can fans? I just want this to be out of sight and mind so I don't have to explain myself to anyone snooping

If your doing a T5 you shouldn't even need a real good fan. I am a larger operation so I use can fans. I think you might be able to get away with just a small circulating fan. If not then look around for a low cfm fan or ask around RIU.

With a 2x4 space you have plenty of room for a small propogation tray and 2 moms. That way you can have two different strains.

Sorry I ment, 2x4 will be for flower for veg I'm just gonna plug cfls in and run them from a shelf on the top of the closet, but to.rock a 600w in a 2x4 I was hoping you could give some insight into how much cfm ruffly I need to kush threw that ducting. I'm wondering about the diffeenxes in open and closed loop circulation of air. Running one fan or blower on the ac hood, then another fan pulling air out of the top going threw a chiller box and back into.the.bottom of the tent around he base of the plant and I.think I will run co2 regulator if I just recirculate the air?

It really all depends on your ducting and how long it is with how many curves. On the safe side I would say 350cfm. It really depends on your ambient temperature in the room. Then you should be fine with whatever smaller fan to just circulate the air through the chiller box like you said. You may want to get a small carbon filter or build one to scrub the exhaust air so you don't get any smells.

Based on what you describe in the first post, I would say that you should just do a custom 2x8 grow if that's what you're trying to fit within... build your own enclosure and get a light rail maybe? That's an interesting idea. I don't know much about the mechanics of that.

For what it's worth a lot of 2x4 tents are not literally 2 feet deep but a bit more, like 29" for the hydrohut I think... it's a reasonable amount of space even though it sounds small... though maybe for HID lighting it would be better to have the extra depth of a 4x4 because of the footprint. (I use T5's so the 2x4 footprint works for me.)

i have grown in tents for a very long time. i have grown a 2x4 with a 600 in it you need atleast a 450 cfm fan (6 in ch inline) to properly cool the small space and big light. i have also grown in a 3x3 with a 600 4x4 with 1000 and 2x2 with 400. if i was you i would get two 2x2 tents each with a 400 for flowering. to cool each of these tents you will need a 4" inline fan each (175-200 cfm) these will be cheaper and quieter than using a 6" 450 cfm inline. with two separate tents you can stagger you harvests properly instead of having varied heights in one tent and not being able to move the light closer to the tops. with the rest of the space 2x4 i would set up a clone area and veg area, each 2x2. for the clones i would use T5s or cfls and for the veg i would use a 150 hps. you will clone for 4 weeks, veg for 4 week and harvest and refill each flower tent every 4 weeks. I would do four plants each cycle each in 5 gallon pots. done properly this could yield you 4-8 ounces a month and will use roughly 1200 watts at any one time. the four week veg will ensure bigger plants and bigger yields. through my experience this would be the most efficient and easy to manage, well producing setup which ensures yields on a monthly basis.
