2x600w hps in 2x1m tent...overkill?

No I meant
1x2m is about 39” x 78” little more then 6feet (the space is about 18 sf)

The 1 600 is not going to light the full 6 feet of the space . The foot print of the light doesn’t go the far.

Here’s some reading

I agree, 1 600 will likely not produce an optimal result especially if he needs high yielders. Can the guy not get cooltubes for his 600w's? I'd venture to say, cool tubes on all his 600's hooked up directly to decently powerful inline fans would solve a large proportion of excess heat in the canopy...a 600w with no cooltube? Blah, that's gonna get toasty. A couple oscilating Lasko fans 'russling' the leaves during lights out will also help get airflow in between leaves and buds, and therefor reduce humidity at night...I leave 2 oscilating fans 24/7, lights on and off. Venting hot air outside would also help tremendously, but that's something that really should already be done if he's got a few tents in one large room.

Be careful with the venting to outside as far as the associated pulling in air from ??? You can bring in pests unknowingly like this. I had this issue and wish I had prevented it.

...Ideally intake air would be filtered, but of course this is not possible in many cases due to cost/setup/etc. If you are going to filter intake air you can use a fairly coarse mesh (not paper) to allow the air to move, or use a makeup air fan (in the case you could afford some equipment...)

Thought you said this was a tight budget and fans weren't do able but cool tubes are ?

Is this grow indoor ? Or indoor in an out building ?

I agree pull air from in door or filtered out door

Anything going outside should/had to be filtered

I ran not cool tubes 2x 600's with out issues pulling air from outside through a t-shirt and into my house. 6" fan.

Air flow is key. Get a fan that is thermostat or get a box that controls your fans

Cheers for all the suggestions guys. Seems like 1 600w in his tents isn't enough but 2 is just making it too hot and it's giving him massive electricity bills which he can't afford.
He pretty much has to work with what he has, 3 2x1m tents and 6 600w hps.
Cheers!
