my bulbs are sitting at 98 lumens /w so i guess i would get like half the efficiency of led fixtures but i still get plenity of light this whole fixture cost me like 100 bucks and the cheapest 100w samsung qb i can get arround here is 150+shippment so.. i guess for me is worth it, plus with my fixture i can always add take and now im thinking i will add 25w uv incandecsent lamp to hit them the last 4 weeeks of flo

bless

I purchased a small cheap LED for my seed making 2x2 tent at the time is cost $49.99. It's a BloomSpec SL600. It draws 85 watts at the wall. I have grown out a few plants between seed runs and have pulled over 3 ounces both times. One plant was WIFI OG and the other was Critical Kush. I'll post pictures if you'd like.

I just posted to "any thoughts" as per your initial post.
You're blatantly wasting energy and could do far better with something else than the wad of cords hanging around there.
It's entirely up to you to do something positive with it, or NOT.
Coming back and saying you don't care about the response is your prerogative. Getting a QP off candles isn't that impressive but it's evidently similar to what you want to do.

Most of the threads here on RIU are to help one another, you can find click bait and argue with people anywhere.
No more thoughts here.
Party on and I hope you don't start anything on fire...

and by the way i was saying i dont care to use 326 watts for 2 months not that i dont care about the reply, i love peoples toughts and advice, and i dont understand you coparing my fixture to candles... im using a 98 lumen per watt fixture i will get yields similar to hps imo hps gets between 40 and 150 lm/w and my spectrum is better with more blues and enough red so.. i will keep the homemade fixture. hey this is to start somewhere, next grow i will update everything , no worries ;) im sure 2024 has something more than the 301 evo

on another line of thoughts, my led bulbs get pretty hot, and i understand that everything that gets hot emits ir, any thoughts there? i for sure need a laser thermometer

yeah lets see it, i was gonna purchase a qb similar to yours, but i liked so much the veg that i sticked to led bulbs, i see many people dont like it, but im fully not convinced that a 100 w board would do better than 100 watts of my bulbs,
my line of thoughts;
the bulbs have 20 leds, they are 14w therefore driving each led at 0.7w
on other hand a qb has 260 leds and 100w therefore driving each chip at 0.4w
if i put 13 bulbs i have 260 leds and 182w
see where im going?

what im saying is that i dont care if i pay 82w more if i get double the intensity / penetration per chip

the full spectrum in those 100w qb is 5 red leds 3 ir leds and 2 uv leds.. smh

so if i want to build something with greater penetration i just have to arrange my bulbs with the chips sitting close in the same fashion as a qb or a bar light but i have more watts per chip, ok im loosing efficiency doing so, because leds are more efficient if you underpower them , but i think i would have more penetration having the same count and distribution of smd leds
by the way these bulbs use the same format smd led as any qb or grow bar light (2835)

and finally my reasons for choosing this light is heat output, yes heat, i dont want to make my room at 28 celcius
but my grow is at exactly 28c when lights on and my room 20 bingo
only thing concerning me right now is rh, im at 30 percent

and one more thought; 330 watts at 98lm/w is 32.340 lumens that for 12 hours on a day for 9 weeks is like 35 bucks according to my local prices,
now say that i went green and bought a high efficiency fixture with samsung lm301b and 220lm/w i would need 147watts of light
so my super eficcient fixture is gonna get me the same light, but cost me triple.. and lets calculate how much i would spare using it;
147w at my local prices .. 15 bucks
oh well 20 bucks i will be rich, see what i mean?

There's been a few members do this and have good results.
I think I remember one guy doing a whole 5x5 .

Looks like you might have a bit of Ntox though.
What they feeding on?
