2x2 Tent Setup for a Light User

Ok cool. Yes, I mean LST. Why can’t the 20 seeds simply be feminized autos? You get the best of both worlds. As far as size goes, that’s genetics and the breeders’ can probably assist with that better than anyone else.
Yeah those perpetual grows are great and certainly doable in one tent, but I like to reset the tent after harvest by deep cleaning and sanitizing it. Maybe you would profit most by acquiring a 2nd tent.
What do you mean by training? Are you referring to LST? Or training on this whole grow thing in general?

Yeah I gotta look into the clip on fan.. I've got extension cords. Mini dehumidifier I'll look into... I have gloves, but not sure if I can get more right now or not (with everybody donating theirs to hospitals).. Have a scale.. I'm sure there will be plenty more i need lol.

BTW.. I thought about seeing if ILGM would do a 10/10 split of the feminized/auto of the White Widow... Do the autos put out a decent plant or would it be just as easy to go with feminized? I'll have the timer to deal with lighting.

I guess the main thing that intrigued me about the auto plants would be the ability to start another grow halfway through this grow.. Kinda always have a plant in the oven after 1 is harvested...

Well they are feminized auto.. I keep reading threads where people say that auto suck and the smoke isn't the same.. yields a ton less.. all that good stuff.

I'm curious.. the deep cleaning/sanitizing... is that to prevent possible disease issues with next plants?

I'm an experience auto grower, bullshit is what people spout about them.

They do come with there downsides admittedly but people don't know how to treat them.

DO NOT TOP THEM - this is due to the veg cycle literally being 3 weeks max from seed. Poor genetics I have started flowering at week 2 and stretching in week 3. Also autos are slightly less forgiving in terms of punishment on yields for mistakes due to there very short life cycle.

LST - I would say essential really as lower sites need the light over a small time frame.

Do not over does with nutes it's very easy in soil and even easier with autos and soil less is definately, definately more.

Another down side is they never really reach top top shelf stuff and I think that's where the hate comes in for the wanna be conniossuers. That said I've had some really nice crops favorites have been Bio Diesel Auto Mass and Blue Treacle.

If you're a newer grower I would recommend playing with autos first also as you don't have to swap from CHM 18 hours to HPS 12 hours. Literally board spectrum them with the right hanging heights for 18 hours continuously and youre there with your lighting.

They also like some CO2 which you can make in a 2ltr clear bottle, half filled with tepid water, a few table spoons of sugar, add a tea spoon or two of yeast and shake. Put a balloon over the top and poke 4 or 5 pin holes in the balloon. This will act as a diffusers and a gauge to see if it's still producing CO2.

CO2 generators need lights and warmth so put it in your grow room. Also remember to have good air cirulation as CO2 is heavy gas and will sink to the bottom of the tent if not properly circulating, making its useless.

A slightly lollipop doesn't go a miss either don't go mad, as again the life cycle is short and it has very little time to recover. You can also add mild defoliation to better light penetration.

Never under estimate the boring and repetative process of tucking leaves and exposing new growth. It's a bitch and has to be done sometimes 2/3 times a day depending on what your doing, how fast things are progressing etc.

Temps - autos do like them slightly lower for denser nug production but no more than a 5C in temp difference between light on and lights off.

Watch night time humidities as this is when the plants transpire the most cause a RH spike. Again aim for somewhere around 50-60% with somewhere in that range being ideal.

PH's are also SUPER critical regardless of what time of photoperiod or autoflower you are growing. This varies for the type of medium you use. If you want some research I have attached a link to show you have PH affect nutrient availability. Yes I'm very sad and I fucking love science, I'm a flat out NERD, who gets turned more by his plants than they do from there wife!!!

PS incase she reads this she's lovely

Happy growing!

Hi mate I've used led in past unless u get a really powerful 1 it no point stick to hps I would
Can I ask out of curiosity what you used?

It would be to easy for me to dismiss your argument without listening to all to what you grew with.

Also I'm a hater of BLURPLE LIGHTS for anything other than secondary/additional lighting.

Get at least a 2 x 4 X 6'+ tent. Not much more money but many times more flexible. One decent plant will overwhelm a 2 x 2 x 4. Even with a thin led panel (IE Spider Farmer SF2000) you lose 8-12" of height + the height of your grow pots

Also, this gives you adequate room to start 4-6 seedlings. Some will be males, so this allows you to choose the strongest female

My issue is the space I’ll have the grow tent doesn’t allow for anything taller than 4’. Maybe at some point I can change that. Are there any recommendations for the 4ft height tent? LST sounds like a MUST. I’m assuming only 1 plant at a time or could 2 possibly work (germinating at same time)?
For now I’m using Autoflower.

So I've got the tent setup now.

My only concern at the moment is the temperature. Without the lights on, the temp is a consistent 66F (its on bottom floor of house, stays cool).. but with the light on.. The temp stays around 80-81. Humidity around 40%. This is with no plant or anything in the tent.

Will adding the plant(s) in the tent possibly lower the temperature some? I know it will raise the humidity levels just a bit.. but I want to get the temps right. The reason I believe I can't get it down into the 70s is because the exhaust just blows the warm air into that closet area (and the door is shut to the closet).. so eventually I am just recycling the warm air from the tent.

What advice do you guys have for this? Do you think it will even be an issue? Will the temp rise with plants or fall?

I do have a solution, but I'd rather not do that at this point.. and that would be to exhaust into the garage, that way the air in the closet stays cool. But I don't want to do that without seeing how the plant grows first lol. I should be able to start my grow on Tuesday possibly.

UPDATE:
I'm making sure that my temp sensor is out of the way of the direct light.. see what it reads then. I read a thread that talked about making sure your temp probe is not in direct light, as that skews the temp/rh. Will report back.

What I have is actually a small side closet attachment from ikea. Its 18"w X 22"d. Cool thing is its got adjustable height all the way up to like 10 feet or something because I can move the shelf up/down. Will start a separate thread so I don't hijack this OP.

I have the same size tent for my clones. The spider farmer sf1000 is amazing in there for $150 and comes assembled. I have heard there are DIY boards out there that may have better or same performance for less.. but I'm not into all that screwing shit and soldering. I'll zap myself lol

The little closet is so convenient. I'm definitely picking up an sf1000 to replace my blurple led's. I've only grown little seedlings in there. Gonna grow one full G13 very soon.

for a 2x2.. I wouldn't put any different light in. The new models now have the dimmer box installed next to the driver that has it's own power switch. No more going under the meanwell driver to dim on spider farmer.

Nice looking girls there, friend. What dimensions is the actual light? What soil do you use?

Soil in those ladies - Coco Loco - no additives

light dimensions - 12.8" x 11.4" x 2.3"
Ok glad you cleared that up for me thank you, so the light is only about a square foot but covers a 2x2 area optimally.

I got a bag of FoxFarm I'm gonna use, not sure how that compares to Coco Loco but your ladies are lookin wet wet.

I use OF too. I have a nice little selection to play around with. All the new boxes are all OF 62F9154E-B711-40DD-82D1-1245016F8DC6.jpeg
