2x2 grow questions

Hello! To start off, I'm new to this forum, but not brand new to growing. I've done quite a bit of research, and still running into questions.

So, after researching constantly. I decided to start small. I'm gonna start with a 2x2 grow tent. And work my way up to something bigger. I was gonna get a 4x4 But I figure. I really don't even need one that big right now.

Light. "Recommended lighting: 1 x 400w HPS or MH system, or LED grow light", but what would be the cheaper route? Would I need a ballast to run the light? Since there's only 1 port and it's only 400w Would I need the reflective hood, or will a wing reflector be fine if I go HPS/MH? I know LED can get pricey. So i think I wanna avoid that for now. Fans. How much CFM would be required? Oh, and T5 lights. Should I get one for Veg? Is it that nessasary? or can I just use HPS/MH lights for veg? And last but not least, what size carbon filter would i need for such a small tent?

they have all in 1 400 watt systems by hydro farms all you need is the two different bulbs and when done with one take out put other in put toggle switch in other potion and your good to go 4 inch centrifuge inline fan will work good there around 170cfm just match or go over on filter look online for light to see what im talking about and a lot of placces have fan filter combo to

I run a 250 watt MH/HPS 2x2 tent for my SCROG plants.

250 watts is plenty. 400 is overkill/heat issues for sure.

Ive got a 3 inch intake fan, and a 3 inch exhaust above my light with a simple 6 inch booster fan pulling out.

Temps are around 78 with lights on.

This setup is really nice for a one plant scrog in 10 gallon smart pots, or 2-4 plants in SOG.

If you dial your plants in, expect 1 + gram per watt with this method.

Makes me wonder why I run the bigger tents sometimes...

I just finished with CFL only in a 2x2 with 1 plant.

250 watts is right for 2x2 and 400 watts is good for 3x3'. Roughly speaking.

You mean a package deal? Or you talking about the ones where it has a ballast and a hood that has holes for running the ducting stuff to get air to flow through? Only problem. 1 upper port. Not two. :/

Scrog and SOG? Isn't that where you have a rotation to where your getting green every 2 weeks? Also, 6inch booster fan... Would i really need one? Those things are pretty loud. Can I just go with a bigger inline for exaust?

No no no no no! I mean, I'm not set on LED and dislike CFL. lol, I can't figure out which would be better. MH or HPS.

Did sound like a bit much, but i figure if it's a tight fit, and smaller plants I could fit 4 plants in the tent. And I was told 50 to 100w per plant.

So, here's what im looking at after what I've read so far. Correct my mistakes of if you know a better product/brand to go through

Reflector:

Can't find any 250w

Ballast:

This goes 100% and 75% which will bring the light down to 300w(rec. was 250w) Also, I do plan to move up in tent size in the future. So, it'll save me money in the long run.

Inline Fan:

I figure one in bottom One up top(for the filter) should work fine.

Carbon Filter:

So, I think I got my fan/light check list done. See anything that should be corrected, or a better product to use. Let me know.

Also, how many plants can i fit in this 2x2? How big can I let them grow? I did see something about a 2-4 SOG. Would I be able to fit 4 normally? What size pots would I need?

my indica standing only about 5" above soil. Bushed out to over 20"

I run a 250w in a 3'x20" tent, works great pull 4-5oz every 2.5months. Cheap to run and the heat is manageable.
