2nd try - 10 days old babies - how does it look?

My first try didn't went too well, I gave my plants a good nute lockup about 1 week into flowering. I saved them and harvested about 100 grams of dry weed - water cured. A hell of a smoke, but I can imagine I could easily have gotten 4 times as much.


So here is my second attempt - plagron soil and 400W HPS light

first pic is 8 days, second one is 10 days - see how much the plands grow in just 2 days



 
are they clones. or from seed. if from seed very nice. i have 6/8 that sprouted, the other two died. planted as seed on the 24th of january. im getting pics together and im going to try to get a log going on here in the next couple days. after a second look they look like there prolly from seed.
 
it's from seeds

I germinated about 40 old seeds, thinking I will get low success cuz the seeds are like 3 years old - out of 40 seeds 36 have germinated - I had room only for 19 plants so I picked the strongest to transplant into bigger pots

such a shame I wasted 17 plants, but I have no room to keep them all, plus some of them had some genetic deffects

it is 10 days from breaking ground - I put the seeds into the soil, didn't bother to germinate in water this time, they took about 3-4 days to break ground

just to compare - this is 9 days old plants from my previous grow:

this time they seem to grow a lot faster and bushier - I suppose the soil is much better this time
 
yea my plants are at about the same stage as yours. im using different lighting tho. i have 4 cfls and 3 flouro tubes. you kno you could have kept some of the others to make up for the loss your going to have when you find males. lest you had fem seeds. males suck. i wasted two months my first time on what turned out to be two males. very nice start.
 
From my first grow I had 20 plants total

10 female
4 maele
6 hermies

but 5 of the females were small, growing in yogurt cups, this time all the plats are in much bigger pots and I am going to LST all the females, so I expect at least 3x more than my first harves, thats if everyting goes smooth

I didn't have a ph meter the first time and fucked my plants up, this time I am fully prepared
 
nice job. my first was just the two plants. i didnt want to waste all my seeds the first go around. i got both males but i did plant two other about two weeks before sexing the two first ones. the second too were both females. was doing really well. then there was a dry spell and i ended up being impatient and smoking it all before the plant was done. my bad. thats why i planted 8 this time. two failed and the other six sprouted. 5 look really healthy and one is from middies and is really lanky. i think it might be a mutant too. im hoping for at least 5 females but thats prolly an overshot.
 
thought ide throw some more pics up of what plant can look like after about two weeks proper lighting and care.

the third photo is of my setup. i kno its getto. but it works wanders for vegging.

looking great ddriver, good luck with the grow.. i gotta agree too that cfl's are great for veg, think i prefer them to my hps untill i can no longer be arsed to move them about (approx 2 weeks).
 
I havent used CFLs for growing yet, I think of making a mother plant and running it with CFLs soon

but so far I used only the HPS from day 0 till harvest, and I had great results
 
yea HPS is the way to go but i havent had the funds to get one yet. so ive been slowly collecting these lights, you kno, one from this pay check, one from that one, then i got this. im saving up for an HPS now. it like buying a damn ipod. but ide definately get more use out of it. haha.
 
oh yeah, hps will dramatically increase yield

at first I thought going CFL as well, but after a lot of math, I realized nothing can match the price/light output/efficiency ratio of the HPS

you may spend less money on CFLs, but you will get a lot less light than money you saved, plus hps light has more lumens per watt consumed than cfl, so you get more bang for the buck in two different ways
 
how the hell is it like an ipod?

its nothing like an ipod.

im guessing the ballast would be the ipod. cord would be the headset wire. the reflector would be the headphone. that must mean the light bulb is the music.

i get it. basically the plants use the light as we would the beats. word up.

EXCELLENT ANALOGY dude. never looked at it like that before. mary jane has opened my eyes.
