THE 2nd GROW
:joint:

Hi there everyone.its time for my 2nd grow now. i have been a member on here now for about 10 months ish and i recently completed my first ever grow with lots of different problems but came through it thumbs up kinda. The help on this site has been super and i'd like to thank loads of peeps for all the help and laughs along the way.keep the good work going guys. were all here to help each other and enjoy fine weed!

Anyways this time i got 7skunk#1 seeds and 5 different bag seed for my closet grow. i think im gonna grow in soil again but don't really want to as i wanted a quick turn around time but i ain't got alot of space so soil it os i think!! .however at least i got a 200w cfl and a 250w mh rather than a flood lamp which i used for my last grow in veg lol.. Also i'll be able to extract the air out this time. Im hoping that this time it will be faster and better. Im also getting a 600w hps for the flowering period will should be cool. I'll be puttin the messurements and pics up on ere tomorrow. And soil & nuits info etc etc...

Anyone got any advice on a differnet system that could fit in a closet and any other advice on helping me plz post ere and gimmie some help.

P.s Anyone know good nuits to use for veg, i've got some dutch kind for blooming. i heard bio bizz is good and able to get in the uk. if i go with this for veg should i use the same product but for bloom or should i just use the 1 i still at present even tho its a different make?

Cheers everyone.

hey sorry i ain't updated lately. everythings going superb apart from a heat issue i can't fix!!! anyways i decided to use bio bizz all mix with my plants as well as using the nuits bio bizz grow, bloom and topmax.i germinated 5 seeds, 3 skunk#1 and 2 bagseed. these are under my 200w cfl and on 18-20 hours of light a day. started them off in flexemex cubes and transplanted to tiny pots after a couple of days. i got a bigger plant, maybe 9-10 " tall and also bagseed, ths is under my 400w duel light, just put in into flowering the other day. when it shows the sex im gonna stick it back into veg.and move the smaller ones away from the cfl and under the 400w.
Here are the latest pic of my seedlings- 9 days from germination.

Nice healthy looking plant. I look forward to seeing how this skunk strain turns out.

Be sure and educate yourself a little before you decide to go over to hydro. I made the mistake of not doing that even though I had all the required materials. Please, don't be an idiot like I was, it's not worth the undue sadness watching your plants die and not know what's wrong.

Seriously though, with say dwc, you have a plastic container with a nutes solution in. This can be organic.

the net pots let the roots of the plants come out into the soution and the air stones/pump makes sure that you are getting oxygen to the roots.

If you keep the solution at the right level and do this by checking your meters you cant really go wrong. If anything does go wrong, it wasnt over watering if the pumps are on and working, it was ph cus you checked that on your meter and it wasnt the nutes because they are spot on too, but still your getting burn, oh the lights too close.

See what I mean, I dont understand why everyone says hydro is hard, its reputation exceeds its actual difficulty.

It is easy once you know stuff like you just said. It can be intimidating if you just go right into it not knowing a thing about hydro.

Yes, but soil is a lot more forgiving when a problem does arise, depending on the strain. I'm not trying to say hydro is extremely hard. Just that it can be a little bit harder than a soil grow. Which is why I told him to read up before starting it.

Seeing as you cant thoroughly measure the nutrient value of soil without digin it all up your less likely to get a problem in hydro if you keep measuring, unless the batteries go, with soil you can never know for sure what the soil contains and whats been used up therefore you are more likely to get a problem with soil.

True. I guess they both have their pros and their cons. I'm not saying that it is a fact that hydro is harder. Just my opinion from when I tried it out.

I may try a small container on some clones when i do them, not sure wen or how tho, i've heard so many ways it just confusses me more! was thinking of a small fish tank with small amount of water inside, the air pump, polystirine sinning on top of the water with the clones going through small holes and dangling in the water. would this work? how would i take the clones out tho with out ruining the roots?
