2nd Attempt: Micro Hydro PC Grow

breakneck

Calyx LED
This is my second attempt at growing. My first one turned out to be male...

Pretty simple setup; some PC fans, 2 45w CFLs, air pump and stone.

I transplanted it as a seedling into the hydro setup. Hopefully she makes it - its been two days since transplant in these pics.

Day one - March 16th.

This post marks DAY 16.

That's what I was thinking too... I'm not sure what they are I had them laying around from my last grow. I think I'll go buy some daylight spectrum ones tomorrow and check em out.

Are these roots lookin OK? They seem to be a little bit brownish with new growth being clear.

yea those roots should be white...might wanna check the growfaq on brown roots...maybe a nute thing..but as long as new growth is white, you should be alright...plant looks healthy

Yeah all the new growth is white. There has been a lot of new growth in the last 36 hours or so. Everything looks good so far. I'm stoked.

Today I noticed all the upper leaves are turning yellow. I started CO2 could that be it? I have a tube coming from the bottle shooting right next to the plant all the time. Maybe this is too much?

Pics shortly...

See how yellow it looks!? Roots look healthy tho!

It may be lack of N. Yellowing leaves are usually a good sign you need to increase the Nitrogen levels. It may also be nute lock up.

What is your ph level at?

Hey man i was wondering where you got that hydro system?? also what are the demensions of your hydro system??

Thanks and your plant is looking great

I actually spent about $50 on it all. Just a small 34 oz tupperware, air pump and 4" stone, cheap ass Miracle Grow nutes, and 90w of CFL.

LOL I haven't even PH'd the water. No meter yet. I used 50/50 tap and purified water and about 1/4 nute solution MG says to use.

cheap ass Miracle Grow nutes

SINNER!!!

lol, that could be your issue. When it comes to cannabis, Miracle Grow may as well be poisin hehe. There are very few who are able to make MG work for em.

I highly recomend you try to get some better nutes.
I my self use fox farm, and I havn't had any issues.

PH'd the water tonight. It's at about 6.5 PH 120PPM General Hardness, 120 PPM Carbonate Hardness, and basically zero Nitrates.

Is this about right?

Day 19.

Looking good so far. It's starting to grow much quicker.

It looks like your using liquid MG right? I can tell by the bluish green appearance on the rocks. Any plants I have attempted in hydro with MG ended up with that same thing. For house plants, MG is pretty good. But for cannabis you will need to upgrade to some real nutes.

However, those last pics looks alot greener than the last. So what ever it is your doing now must be working for ya. Just keep an eye on it.

Other than that, it's a nice grow man.

+ Rep for Effort :)
