In the end, I got about 22 grams off her dry. The smell and qualities a little disappointing. It's not bad, but she smelled much stronger during the growing stages then it does now. I dried it for about 5 days, then cured it for 2 weeks(in 2 days haha). Will the quality of the smell improve as it cures more and more? When I crack a nug it smells pretty bomb, but when I smell the jar its faint as fuuuck... Heres a couple pics. Not the best in the world, but she's pretty hairy and smokes well.

IMHO if your getting great smells, it appears nice and frosty (no pics of final product), was dried right, then yes. The longer the cure the better it gets. There is a certain stage of drying where the cure won't even happen. If I recall (number wise), it's 45% humidity? Will have to get it confirmed. At that stage, it's to dry to cure right.

I might have over dried it then. My rooms about 50-60% humidity but I had the little girl drying in the pots for a while before I chopped her down. She went without water for a week to a week and a half before the chop was even made, then i left the buds strung up in a dark cardboard box with a fan blowing in the bottom of the box for about 2 days. It was most likely even less humid in the drying cab, so chances are, I over dried the nugs before curing them :( That sucks haha. I have another girl a couple weeks from harvest, hopefully ill get it right with her.

They look great. I would deffinately get a hygrometer and put it in the jar to check humidity levels. Again, check around (there's a great link on drying and curing on this site) to find the point of humidity where the cure is over, and hope your still in the zone. They look nice and dense too. Keep an eye out for mold (at this stage I don't see it so don't panic), cause when you see it it's usually to late.

Doesn't curing longer increase the quality? Why would I 'stop' curing when the cures 'over', if i could potentially improve the quality of my bud??

There is a point at which the bud is to dry to cure any longer. I don't recall the exact humidity levels which is why I mentioned a read may be in order. Yes, a longer/slower cure will increase flavor, smell, potency (as long as its within the plants genetics), but if the buds drop below a certain point, jarring won't matter. If its to dry, it won't do any good. If you want I can go find the exact answer. Was just trying to guide rather than do.

mydrying and curing process is when i 1.flush for 1 week.

2. cut down and give them a quick trim (iremove all fan leaves, and side sheer to get the basic shape of the nug)

3. hang dry for 4-6 days (wait until stems makea cracking noise, but does NOT completely snap in two)

4. brown paper bag them over night.

5. jar emm all up into your preferred storagejars

6. burp jars every 4 hours for the first 2 days

7. now just burp the jars every day or 2 for 2months.

::::2 months later::: AND your jars Will sMell INCREDIBLE!

thats just my process, thanks for the +rep if u can that would be great!

wow that shit looks dank i just read your whole thread and i was impressed until you said the high and smell was not to good... anyways theres a trick to put moisture back into your buds if you over dry them all you have to do is put a moist cotton ball in the jar your using or a slice of leamon also never forget to flush your plant with 3-5 gallons of phed water a week befor your ready to chop to get rid of any left over nutes you can repeat the proses a few times it will give you a better tasting bud and smoother smoke and also to get the most out of the bud you can also leave the buds in complete darkness for the last 3 days before you chop it really does raise the potency i had two nl someone told me about this before i was going to chop so i tried it with one of left the other under the lights and what do you know i got a longer lasting and stronger high from the bud i left in the dark.....just a tip
