250 actual vs 450 actual? What are we talking here. Seems like an unfair comparison right out of the box. I take led for 1000 Alex.

250w cfl va 450 w led. I don’t know how watts work and lights in herbal when it comes to plants (I know a tad how they need different colors spectrums in different stages)

It really sounds to me like you dont know. Its sounds like your thinking about a Mars hydro light or some burple.

It’s a simple question guys what works better in 2x2 space even 3x3 250 watt cfl bulb or 450 watt leds

Let me clarify with pictures ..Here are some pictures and as you will see my young euphoria didn’t like the LED so close

So the LED has knobs for red, blue, and white light. The one plant I moved from MH to LED didn’t like it close.

Anyhow below are pictures of the two lights, Since the consensus is 450w led is better, what about these knobs, all on for vegging and what for flowering? Thanks guys for your time

PS you can see my older babies too. The one I topped twice to get 4 canopies which also opened up the middle to some light too

Your right, at face value it's a increasingly simple question and obviously led is better. however, that's not a 450 watt led.

Fact is you dont even know what you have, and that's very obvious to all of us.

the problem is that most leds available on amazon or ebay are not what they are labelled. if it actually draws 450 watts from the wall, obviously it would be better than 250 watts of t5s, but most of the leds aren't actually what they say they are, they're what the manufacturer considers "the equivalent of"...so your 450 watt led is probably not a 450 watt led, it's probably a 100 watt or so led, which the maker wants you to believe is the equivalent of a 450 watt hps.....and it most definitely is not...
so read farther, look into the product specs, and see what it actually draws from the wall

and 450 (real) watts would be a little overkill for a 2x2, just about right for a 3x3

The Vipar par 450 is a 200w light at the wall, as in its a 200w light. I think its called a 450 because it has 150 x 3w diodes or some shit.
Its ment for a 2x2 area in flower, it may not be the best light in the world but it will beat 250w of cfl.
The knobs are mostly to make it look better but have the advantage of been able to dim for tiny seedlings and use more blue and less power overall for veg. In flower you want everything maxed out.

I only said 450w LED bc on the top it’s what it says. Didn’t know it got deeper then what is labeled on the light

Unfortunately it does. The most commonly marketed and lowest quality LEDs on amazon an ebay are called one thing but are actually another. When I said you probably dont know what you have or know what your talking about I actually wasnt trying to be mean or rude simply saying it sounds like you are new and fell for a scam of sorts.
It's like when you goto Walmart and see a cfl listed as 23 true watts but "90 watt equvilant" or some such. We only care about the true watts.
So figuring out how many watts your LEDs is truly using is the only way we can tell you what's best. If we know what exactly you have we can tell you the true watts as well.

Bro, your Vipar will do just fine for your space. Back before COBs, your led's tech was the latest greatest. Forget all the would be, could be's and focus on your own grow; you'll have as good of results as you could hope for.

And how do I do this (find out it’s wattage and lumen output? And what would you say is the target goal for all stages?
