Hi guys,

i ve just set up the system 2 days ago saturday and i want to grow 2 plants (applejack and hex) in a 31x66 inch wardrobe.

The 4 seedlings are passion#1 and i ll be growing them outdoor as soon as they re big enough to be transplanted (they re 1 week old and have been under the lamp since sunday morning, before that i kept them in the garden). cycle 18/6
I was wondering for how long the light can be enough for all the 6 plants.
The hex and applejack plants sprouted their root (paper towel method) and still have to come out from the soil (been under the light since this morning) .
Lamp is 15inch far and with the proper ventilaition the temperature stays around 80° , i water them twice a day making sure the water comes out of
the bottom (the soil dries out quickly :cuss:).
It doesnt seem they have any heat stress response so far.

I m worried the light wont be enough for all of them at a certain point , am i right ?
When do you think i should move the 4 passion#1s out of the closet ?

Any kind of suggestions are well welcomed :-P .

they should be fine under the 250W for a few weeks Im sure, but watering twice a day ! small seedlings like that in Pots like them you have would normally require water every 3-5 day

If you switch them to flower right away and top em you can grow all 6 all the way thru. but if you are transplanting em, you can probably veg those in there for a few weeks before you have to bring em outside.

slips right. good on ya buddy for always looking out for the new guys. i help one guy out more just cause his thread was the first one i ever checked out. I keep a eye on his thread and give him a hand.

Overwatering can be leathal. unles you are only giving them a really minor amount of water twice a day, you are probably rotting your roots. but thats not proper unless its a tropical plant (marijuana isnt). seedlings of weed plants should be waterd just like slip said. Dope isint a water lillly.

and you will most likely need to exhaust the heet from the wardrobe. small exit fan, cut a hole, and tada.

i would also recommend using metal halide for veg. they grow with a more compact internode, and is more natural. mh produces spring/summer light spectrum. hps produces fall light. you will get great results using full spectrum. on that note, the sun is the best full spectrum lightsource. but i dont grow much outdoors. even tho i live in a rural area, theres always people around.it seems to be like theres always some nosy jackass hanging around.

And invest in some white plastic or mylar. 25 feet mylar, 20 $. it will help with the light reaching everywhere. make this investment and you will have a indoor veg box. you could make clones and sell em. all year round. clones are cheap to produce and can sell from. 5-25$ per. it could pay gor itself in no time.

if you are woried about stink, its veg so that wont be a issue. i highly recomend exhaisting the exess heat tho. a little closet can get to hot. it only takes a hour of dangerous temps to kill seedlings. you have to baby em

Thank you very much for the suggestions XD .

a little upgrade , i took the doors off to get more space and put a reflex sheet.

the hole at the bottom is for the fan, top to exhaust. Convection theory haha.

The themormeter says 90° but if i keep my hand on the soil it s not hot at all , quite fresh actually. Can you tell me why ?20130422_224000.jpg

Soil dosent conduct much heat unless its really dry.
the plants should be alright at 90. 92 is considered the max by many, but some sativas are highly heat risistant.

look into mandala satori seeds. a sativa that hardly streches compared to most

As far as all suggestions are welcome ;)

How do you measure your temp : doors off the drobe opened ot closed?
If opened, you will soon not only have heat issues (sommer about to arrive in Europe) but smells problems too.
Looking at your seedlings, you have maybe 2 weeks left (veg time, not flow) before the area is gonna reek and spread its weed fragrance.
So if I were you, I would first set a proper vent, and very soon.

Depending where the drobe is located (in a bedroom where you sleep in or a spare one), you can work on noise issues easily by getting :
1- a carbon scrubber that will nearly kill all the smells
2- isolated ducting (ducting hose with with rockwool wrapped around it) between the carbon scrubber and the fan
3- an inline fan (around 250m3/h, or a bit less depending of the heat you'll have to exhaust)
4- some piece of isolated ducting to reduce the exhaust noise
5- optional, a silencer, but if you really plan to sleep close to this drobe it will save your strong sleeping nights

The incoming air just needs a hole, as big as your ducting, using the free passive way. It will create a negative pressure, to ensure all the smell runs through the scrubber to get out of the wardrobe.

For 250W, recommended fans and scrubers use 125mm ducting.

With soil you don't want to water too much. Best is to stick a finger in it, to check if not only the top part of it is dry. If it's moist 2cm under, don't water now, you'll also promote root growth and with soil, the bigger they are the better!
