24hr or 18hr, which is better for seeds 6 days old

Gents,
Switched off the lights for the first time yesterday, but not sure if this the best method at such an early stage.. anyone care to assist, should i leave them on or just the 18hr?

24 is 25% better than 18. Your plants "feed" when the lights are on and stop when it gets dark. It's not like the get tired, LOL.

i feel the oposite...the plants need some dark....just like outside...im sure you can go either way but i prefer a dark period..

My plants looked tired to me after 21 days or so of 24/0 from seed and i have begun to give them 20/4.

Thanks guy's ... when should they be turned the veg state?? 2/3 weeks or more

They are in veg now. What I think you mean is when will they be in flower. And that depends on space and strain.

From what I remember reading on here from a poll (someone might remember this as well) most go either the full 24hrs, or go 18/6. 20/4 was on there also but most were talking about trying to save on there energy bill.

And as well to quote someone else, if only i could remember these threads... Pretty much a plant stores energy through photosynthesis and can build itself slowly during its light cycle. However during its dark period the plant can build faster and build a strong root system using the energy it has stored up. But it can't be left for long periods in the dark as it will need to rejuvenate it energy source and store up again to continue building.

Now I am a newb as well and i go 18/6 because i think i makes the most senses. Plus just yesterday i had my land lords coming over so i had my box off for 24 hours during its Veg cycle. Pop'd it open this morning and its grow 2"+ over that dark period.

Anything ive just posted is here/say and is no way absolute, only to be taken as advice. Im pretty sure others will have something different to say. Anybody else wanna add to this?

space isn't an issue, spare room will be hit with these beauty quite soon, 10 in total, 2 x 600wt & 1X 400wt, I going to give them 3 weeks berfore flowering, There just getting the 400watt for now

I used to agree with 24/0 all the time during veg.
I dont know if its my strain or that fact that i cant keep constant temps but my plants were definitely looked stressed and tired and i think they look more healthy if not quite so big with a small rest.
I think plants do need a rest

I am of the same opinion, so perhaps i will go the 20x4 route and gauge the results, when would you suggest flowering?? sooner the better but when is the ideal time to switch?

I dunno about ideal times as you can flower any plant from seed basically.
The longer you veg the bigger the plant will be.
I veg for the time frame i have and the amount of height that i have before the plants are to near the light and i plan for 12-18" of extra height during the flowering period

I've only ever used cutting, but difficult to get these days, started with power plants and trying to get any advise during this unknow stage for me ..

I have crossed ppp with blueberry and then recrossed it with a sativa male.
