My fan I just got is a little louder than I had expected. are there ways of making it less noisy?

you can make/buy an insulated box for it and hang it inside with bungee cords. also can get /make an exhaust muffler.

the exhaust end is fine, can't hear a thing on that end. its the room with the tent so maybe a box may be my option...

Speed controller.

I have found that fans work just as well on half speed and are much less noisy.

Just make a mount using some small thick vacuum belts suspended from the ceiling with hooks, attach the fan to a piece of plywood with hooks on the top to hang from the belts. You can do it for less than 40 bucks
