The seeds came out great. I misted a pie cover to serve as a humidity dome since I use fabric pots and didn't want to lose too much surface moisture. I had healthy shoots within 3 days. I never lowered the MH lights, I just left them as is and brought the plants out into direct sunlight after maybe the 5th node. No leggy stretching, and I got fat colas even in winter. 3.5 months in and the leaves are just starting to yellow. One of my best grows yet.

Do you ever post anything of actual value or just this bumbling bullshit all the time? Enough with the mystical crap, either post relevant and helpful information or don't post at all.

Regarding transplanting, have you guys considered using fabric pots so that you can start the seed and then transplant immediately into, say, a 1gal fabric pot as its final resting place (or even start in that pot)? I'm doing an experiment with non-autos now on my current run to see how the yield from my 1gal fabric pots compare to 3gal pots, but I can say from my last run that I had yields that were almost exactly in line with normal yields from a 3gal hardwalled pot with the same amount of veg time with only one transplant into the 1gal fabric pots in the plants' lifetime. Might be worthwhile for you auto folks to consider since you have so little time for the roots to establish.

If you check out my grow I have nothing but Autos and they are doing amazing after going from Rapid Rooter ->1 gallon Smart Pot -> 5 gallon Smart pot

I transplanted when I felt like the roots where just getting to the edge. Rubbed around the edge to loosen the roots from the pot and rolled the Smart pot down like a slim fitted dress on a beautiful girl. :hump:

On the more dry pots after waiting a few days they slide right out. But I prefer the unrolling method now, less stress if done gently in my opinion.

So do you think going from a 1gal to 5gal actually made an appreciable difference? I ask because that's a pretty big jump in general but I'm not at all familiar with autos so I'm not sure what the differences are.

My first time growing LOL...

I even ripped a chunk away while doing with roots and all. Rootball was still intact in the middle though.

I feel unless you transplant after the roots are trying to come out the pot then thats too late. I had air movement ALL around my pots 24/7 ..even under to prevent roots from being bound. Smart Pots air prune thus keeping them for the most part within the soil I belive.

Biggest tip is to NEVER transplant when wet or when the roots have completely filled the pots bottom and edges.

Heck yes. Allowing them to go from a 1 gallon not entirely filled with roots yet to a 5 gallon allowed them to reach full potential. My journal is the proof
