are you starting with clones or seeds? ive heard clones are better under the 18/6. im still in the vegging stage on my babies and i use the 18/6, to me i cant see how 24hrs of intense light can help something grow. with my plants i have noticed that almost all growth happens when the lights are off. i know that sounds stupid but i swear its true and i have other people that witnesses it too. go 18/6 i think it will work out for you

i think they only say 24/0 is good becase they are to lazy to buy a timer and to manually turn em off everytime. at least i was, just bought some timers though, IT WAS AN EXCUSE LOLs but i dont think that is what nature intended

I have been thinking of trying 18/6, but I have good results with 24/0. It's not a matter of not having a timer either. I always have at least 1 or 2 on the shelf as backups. What kind of light are you using?

I did 24/0 with very good results using 6500K CFLs. I'm not going to link anything so if you care enough go look for yourself somewhere but I did read on this forum once that a MJ's root system is a certain type that does not need a dark stage to grow. That being said I run 19/5

It might be something other then the lights. The PH has a lot to do with that as well. If it's too high or low that will slow the growth process a lot. You said that your growing in an Arogarden you should get a bubbler or 2 and put them in their as well to help the roots get O2
