Everyone needs to calm down and post pics of plants in veg. We are giving advice on fast veg and photoperiod and people are saying pre flowers are optimal during veg and argue against nitrogen??? I argue that pistils during veg are a sign of stagnation and some plants are genetically more sensitive to photoperiod. Plants also get use to a set cycle and become stagnant in growth. lets stay on topic and I'm sorry if we disagree.
I have a weird thing going on and if you could provide some serious info that would be cool. No bull shit to impress others. This plant has been in veg 24/0 for 3 months. I have no idea whats going on. I have her in flower right now and she's doing great so far for 22 days in. Im just stumped here on why she looks like this in veg.

Cannabis is a c3 plant and there is absolutely no scientific evidence that cannabis processes c02 or anything else only in the presense of darkness.24/0 will allow for more training and less stretching during veg.24/0 is a tool you should have in your arsenal if you need it...to heavily train or reduce stertching and make for tighter nodes etc.Ofc its not always needed but your grow room should be able to handle that of you need it to.
As Mary jane been around longer then anyone of us lol , we do out best to mimic mother nature so ?? With that said where on Earth is it 24 hrs all the time sunlight ? cause if we are wanting to duplicate mother nature then 24 hr lighting is not NORMAL .

when the sun sets, the angle of the light hitting the earth's atmosphere is tilted. It changes from bright daylight (white) blue spectrum (450 nm) to amber or red at sunset (650 nm) which is basically a shorter wavelength and thus carries with it more photon energy.
Which triggers cues in the plant

That is why we need more red to flower (HPS during bud) and we need more white (Metal Halide) during veg stage. We are duplicating nature indoors. Basically humans developed in a similar way as we spend the day gathering food and expending energy. At night time, like cannabis, we metabolize this food to produce the energy to make new cells and repair the damaged ones we hurt during the day. We also use the night to produce very important enzymes and proteins and we wait for the sunrise to get to work or in a plants case, to start the day again photosynthesizing.

what the plant is really doing while it is sleeping is carrying out a cyclic process known as circadian rhythm from the Latin word meaning “approximately a day”. To take it one step further, all cells require metabolic energy in the form of what is called ATP or NADH. This energy is produced throughout the day and is the result of many biochemical processes, not just one. We all seem to concentrate on photosynthesis because we know it occurs during the daytime and we can understand that. Photosynthesis is the process of breaking down metabolic energy by using light energy (Produced during the day) to break apart water which generates O2, protons and electrons. Oxygen becomes the bus driver that transports all aerobic respiration and it is used to transport the electrons which in turn is used in the productions of those energy rich molecules known as ATP and NADH we talked about earlier.


So when all of this mixes together in photosynthesis, the Calvin cycle ( light) fixates or concentrates on CO2 to make what is called 3-Carbon sugars during this light cycle. Later during the darkness or “night cycle”, this 3-Carbon sugars are converted to 6-Carbon sugars such as glucose and fructose. Now the point should be clear and obvious. We need both the daylight for photosynthesis to occur and generate 3-Carbon sugars but we also need the darkness or night to finish the job and create 6-Carbon sugars to make glucose and fructose that is used to make cellular carbon or the bulk of ATP and NADH during aerobic respiration during the dark cycle. Does this make sense now?

I think you need to edit that 24/0 to 18/6 line because my plants never flower when going from 24/0 to 18/6. If you are talking about pre-flowers, they can and will eventually show on 24/0.

What strain is it and are your other strains doing that? You need much bigger containers. Back off on the p and k and give it just nitrogen for a few feedings. I think that might help and they look good.

He googled it,he copy pasted it from the first article that came up...doesnt mean its true.Yes cannabis is a c3 plant,however it fits in a special category of c3 plant. if only you would have read a little farther you would have read this...

Like is said earlier show some scientific proof that what you say is true,because as of yet ive found no scientific evidence thats the case and cannabis grows well under 24/0

ive been cultivating for about 20 years and what i have noticed is if you have a lady in veg for a indefinite time (Mother Plant) she will show hairs every few months, meaning that that would be the best time for pollination. Of course you can force it, but the lady has pre-set signals. its usually in spring and right around July and Aug. Research everything you read!

There is some science-y stuff there, but you're wrong. Vegetative C3 plants do not need a dark cycle. Flowering, of course, is different. Also; you're assuming that "Mother Nature" is optimal, based on what? C3 plants can make use of more C02 than exists in the atmosphere naturally, so that's actual proof that "Mother Nature" is non-optimal at least in that way. This is an insidious assumption that too many people make. "Natural" is not inherently better.

I have tried both ways and haven't noticed a 33% increase in growth.

Environment effects pheno expression. Sativas are more potent when you replicate equatorial conditions. Tobacco grown in Cuba will be different than if you grew it a different location. Most sativa producing countries have 12/12 year round with no winter.
