23w fluorescent enough to sustain mother plant?

can i keep a 2 foot mother plant under a 23 watt fluoro with good hood

maybe... get a Y splitter to double, 2 will work, always the more the better though

you need at least 100watts for one plant.

I'm curious as to why you think that. Can you provide real word comparison?

You need at least two... they dont grow quite right under 1 cfl, cause the point of light needs to be close and is too small...

so most of the plant is in the dark.

Get as many watts as you can on it, but I'll bet two would work, and certainly much better than just one. (I am using them for veg too)

ya i agree with the consensus that you need atleast 2 bulbs

thanks for responses. So i was able to get a 50 watt bulb that I'm going to try.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience sustaining a mother plant on its side while in soil? my thought is the plant would do fine.

im sure it would work but i would get a 42 instead
