21st Century Drip Using 320 GPH Pump

3+ pounds from 1200w is nothing to sneeze at, but a lot of it has to do with the genetics, and these look awesome

The 4+ oz you referred to was not the whole plant, only the main bud. Plant was grown under <120 led watts, so if we multiply just the main bud x 10 (10xs the watts) = ummmmmmmmmm anybody besides me get 4+ pounds?

Let's leave it at that
Noobs count wet bud - no-one else does. Please, stop embarrassing yourself. You can't even do maths. (Hint: how many ounces to the pound? Don't go editing your post . . .)

I'm going to leave you alone now, because I can see you're simply digging yourself deeper and deeper and it was never my intention to ruin someone else's thread or show up a novice. Go and get your advice from Uncle Ben. And while you're there, pass on my regards to him and the missus.

To restore sanity to my thread, I requested prawn connery posts and my replies to them be deleted

One thing came out of it that I think you want to know is why I chose this modified method...

The most efficient grow method I am aware of involves pulsing nutrients under ~ 80 psi+into a closed dark root chamber.

I have 5 HPA grows under my belt, and have followed threads of many others. Ideally in hpa, on times are fractions of one second, repeated every 5-8 seconds. The roots were never too wet and never too dry- ideal for plant metabolism.

My system was only capable of one second on times. Although ~ 5xs more than ideal, when root chamber temps were moderate my roots were awesome -very delicate, large masses of cotton candy, and extremely efficient.

One of the things that attracted me was no medium is used beyond a starter plug for seedlings.

In every other grow method some type of medium is needed. I chose lava rock

Lava Rock

LR is very light weight, and has a rough jagged surface, which is perfect for trapping residual nutes between feedings. Roots (and root hairs) are attracted to the tiny pools of nutes and grow all over them. Roots (and root hairs) stay moist longer

LR varies in size. I put the larger rocks on the bottom of the Air Pots, and smaller ones in the bottom of the net pots

Unfortunately, I deleted root pics growing all around LR from my previous grow.

Pump

Prior to putting this system together I questioned how well my 320 gph pump would work with the drip rings- it works just fine, the adjustable o/o valves I placed in front of each ring are unnecessary, but good if taking a single plant out for any reason

Why Are the Clones so Small?

I started these clones under 14/10 but quickly moved to 12/12 as the temps in that room were 90+ and RH was 80+. Consequently, the clones did not stretch, whereas their sisters did in my led tent.

Two weeks ago Monday, I was forced to repair the ac on this side of the house, as it was obvious that bud development was suffering. Since then the buds have bulked up like the Hulk.

I can't wait to begin a new grow with this dialed in system.

i hate when people claim "pounds" and dont get me wrong prawn thats a big plants but that wasnt pounds. more like a pound which is realistic for what that looks to be. 6ft tall plant 3 main buds that are a few zips each and a lot of good sized buds a popcorn makes it look like a little over 1lb to me. probably around 20-21 zips. and for 1200w that normal.

I promised the mods I wouldn't post in this thread again. But I deserve the right of reply. How many zips are in this photo, poly? That's four of seven plants harvested so far under 1200w of vertical lights. There's over 2lb of dried bud here, and another elbow (lb) in the cabinet behind that will be cut down tomorrow or the next day.

All I wanted to do was help a guy. Now I've got people coming out of the woodwork trying to attack my grows. What would you do?

PC you come across as a scholar who never grew the first plant. Head full of programming, no practical experience. An experienced grower like myself can spot the difference.

Since your reply was not to something I said, and knowing that I have repeatedly asked you to go away, and since you promised the mods, you should have sent him a PM. Now please go away

I heard back from the mods on high. They say it is not my thread, that it is an open forum, so I told them this

So you are giving me permission to go shit all over his thread

I don't want to do that, but you are not leaving me a choice to let him know how upsetting it is.

Let me know ASAP before I begin

Anybody want to join in if they don't change their mind?

Hiya M8,

I like this thread, I think you have some really kewl ideas, so I say you keep doing what you are doing, and forget about anything that upsets you, especially in here. Just keep on keepin' on.

How you react to someone says more about you, than it does about them. Fight the good fight M8.

Thanks. I just added a reply in PCs thread that you might want to read, but yes, moving forward now

The girls have responded extremely well to the new watering schedule- 10 sec/15 min during lights on

First 3 pics taken 4 days ago

Thinking how well the girls have responded to the new feed cycle, and reflecting on my HPA grows, I changed the feed cycle this morning to 6 sec on (~one-half sec delay in my timer) and 10 minute pause

Doing the math

10 secs on X 15 min= ~ 38 sec/hr

6 sec on X 10 minutes= ~ 55 sec/hr

~ 40% less food per feeding, but given ~34% more often could have additional benefits, same as with humans

We'll see soon enough

Since changing feed cycle to 10 sec on + 15 minutes pause, the plants have filled out considerably. This morning I changed it again to 6 seconds on + 6 minutes off

I said my peace on PCs thread, retorted all his posts on my thread that were based on poor reading comprehension, as he has serious grow game

How are you doing? You can PM if you want

Been keeping a close watch on the pistils since altering the feed cycle to 6/6. They are not as turgid (~ 10% shriveled and turned brown), part of that could be due to adding a second 2/6 Wave Point Coral Wave, but no matter the cause, there does not seem to be sufficient nutrient/water inside them to compensate, or I need to raise the lights a bit, or...?

I noticed when the pump turns on that the nutes stopped flowing at ~ 4 seconds. I thought about that...

I already know my Sentinel MDT 1 is not accurate at one second, now adding to that a full force of nutes exiting the halo rings are far from instantaneous due to start up time to prime and fill the ~ 8ft of 1/2" tubing; the spray lasted ~ 4 seconds

So, I increased on time to 8 seconds.

Good news, since increasing the amount of nutes per feed 3.5 hours ago (I also raised the fixture 2", so I doubt that was the cause) the pistils are fat and fluffy again
