For flowering:
looking for some advise. I have 5 1212s on the way run by a hlg185-1050b

In the area of about 1.75 ft X 4.6 ft. Should I layout all 5 in a straight line to cover the whole space for Flowering or create the X pattern and add an old 180w Advanced LED?

Thanks.

Below is your calculator data, just guessing on the spectrum and cri. Your def gonna need some additional lighting, as your ppfd is low (425ish). Target is 700-900. If you had one more cob and a 240-1050, you could make two bars of 3 and put the advanced in the middle. With 5, you'll just need to come up with a layout that spreads the light evenly WITH your advanced unit. Or, just add more cobs. In your case, 10 1212's would be just right, giving about 850ppfd

thanks for the reply.

I have 2. Cxb3590s on a hlg185-1400 that I've been vegging on. Would prefer not to spend more right now to make that a 4 cxb light. Run the 5 1212s and the 4 cxb in flower would be ideal But would the advanced 180w work 'best' as my veg light

Would also prefer to make this 1212 build useable for the future(configuration/layout)

I guess it helps to actually add the data, lol. I edited the post. I hear you on keeping costs down. I have a 5 cob 1212 setup that started with just 2. I'm not sure which unit your Advanced 180 is, so I cant answer if its better, post a link.

For flexibility with future layouts, a simple bar design will probably be your best bet

@visajoe1

Attached is the advanced light I mentioned. Let me know how you think this compares. Thanks

I dont know what that is, cant find anything similar online. It is using 119 1.5v led's though (178.5v), but no idea on the spectrum. It should work fine for vegging tho, I wouldnt worry about it
