Is Sweet Skunk the only Delicious strain you ran?
Really looking hard at Delicious for my next run. Want to try Sugar Black Rose and a few others look really good.
Also fell in love with Chocolate Mint from Humboldt at the dispensary so I’m going to run that for sure as well
Outdoors this year I have the sugar black rose fruity chronic juice and sweet skunk !

Sugar black rose is a bush !! Grew very well !
The fruity chronic juices are clones outdoors this year. I grew the seed indoors harvested 6 oz off a small bushy plant.

First one is the SBR it’s about 5.5 feet tall and just as wide. I topped the crap out of the plant. I’ll get some better pictures next time. E8B23847-3F2F-4B24-BFDD-05E2DABC49C9.jpeg

This is a fruity chronic juice clone planted June 11th the clone was very small maybe 4 inches tall. Hole dug was a 15-20 gallon hole filled with perlite peat compost. Then I use budbread and coming of age by Cold War organics. 868042CA-8744-407A-B70A-191EFDE51ED2.jpeg

I would like to take the time to correct myself!! The sweet skunk fast version is actually by sweet seeds... not delicious seeds... should have realized hence the name sweet skunk... sorry all for the misinformation

so far the sweet skunk early version is doing great !!! way ahead of all my other plants. planning on cutting mid-late September !! way sooner than an early skunk or skunk #1. so heres my question, i see a bunch of breeders across the pond in Spain and other locations that offer early version or fast versions of their strains... from what I've seen they take an auto and a photo and breed them together to create these early version seeds....

HOW COME THERE AREN'T ANY U.S BREEDERS MAKING EARLY VERSION SEEDS ?????

can we not take a thai stick clone and breed with a thai auto to create a thai stick early version sativa that finishes around october ??

thanks lol

Concerning your thai auto cross with a thai photo period idea, you'd probably get some variation in your offspring . First pass isn't normally enough to create a stable cross. Maybe 25% would be what you hoped for and the rest would be all over the map so to speak. Probably would want to stabilize the cross before relying on that combo for a main crop.

If you're looking for a way to shorten the finish times of some late flowering strains, you might look into Iranian Auto Flower (Dr. Greenthumb) to use as something to cross with. Oregon Green Seeds also used Dr. Greenthumbs Iranian to make their own version and for a while offered it in regular seeds. Which can be helpful if you want a male.

I've done a little pollen chucking making Iranian crosses over the years and can usually get stuff to finish by late August, early September, (sometimes even earlier) most of the early finishers don't get "huge", a half pounder might be a good one. Last year had one Iranian C99 finish late August that got pretty close to a pound of really nice sticky potent outdoor.

This year, I put out a couple MOB / Iranian crosses. One finished completely by 8/25 and was sort of indica looking, probably 6-7 ounces when she's all dried. The other is a bluish bud looking girl which looks like she'll yield about 10 ounces or so, she's just about done now (9/2) I expect both will be decent smoke. Popped a few more MOB / Iranian seeds to play with indoors and see what other phenos are in that mix, to see if it's worth stabilizing.

The Iranian Auto flower girl is difficult to get to turn into a male, using colloidal silver, but not impossible. They clone pretty well though. Dr, Greenthumb also offers a bunch of crosses using his Iranian that many people swear by outdoors. Some go into October, but most seem to finish by late September. You could expect some Iranian Haze type crosses to get big, (and finish later) if you want more weight. Pricey, and Dr. Greenthumb seems to rub some people the wrong way, but many people have been happy with his seeds outdoors.

I think you're on the right track trying to make your own crosses ...good luck.

Would you happen to have a Pic of your early version plants around harvest? Would be nice to know what your plants looked like around finish time since you said you got around 10 Oz of one and another was close to a pound! It would be awesome to compare!

The one close to a pound was last year, long since consumed. The one this year just got chopped. I don't usually take pictures, but I've been thinking of getting a cell phone with that capability.

Sweet skunk early version coming along nicely! Few more weeks and I'll be chopping. You think this plant will get close to a pound? In a 20 gallon smart pot plant is about 6 foot tall counted 30 good sized colas not including all the smaller colas and buds under the top of the canopy

A pound from that size container would be nice, but you won't throw the bud away if your yield is 6-8 ounces either. Hard to guess the final total not knowing the sunlight duration and bud density, but your plants look great.

I harvested a couple "wild" plants the other day that might go 2 ounces each. They were from seeds I made almost 10 years ago, I was a little surprised the seeds popped. Their sister might get whacked later today. Iranian crossed with a quick flowering Indica. Short stealthy plants have their place in the seed collection. I should've pollinated them, as they've shown good mold resistance and they remind me of the old days, a bit skunky, rugged stony little fuckers...set and forget. Now...if a guy grew a few of those, he'd get a decent early yield while waiting for the bigger ones to finish. :bigjoint:

I was really looking forward to bubbas gift. Does Humboldt make any strains you would recommend? I checked out getaway mountain seeds not the biggest selection but they are climatized... and also they aren’t feminized. Maybe next year I’ll try the getaway mountain seeds when I have a decent indoor area for clones and sexing.
I've grown their blue dream which was amazing actually....
And I have their lost coast hash plant going right now. This will be the first one down out of all the plants. Amazing so far and very resistant.
