Growerr,

Do you have a good tutorial on the cob build out? Im looking at investing in either cobs or cmh come the new year.
No sorry I'm lazy and just bought the 3590's pre-built. I'm using several bars from Tasty LED, more costly but I don't have the tools or time for builds. I've built some and modified some Chinese fixtures with 3070 COBs in the past but it's been a couple of years and many changes since that build.

There are several threads in the LED section though and some really helpful folks providing info and help in there. Cheers.

Cheers Growrock, pleased with this run. This run gave me confidence that the 3590 COBs are up to the task, every pheno/strain has rock hard buds :)

The Blue Ripper and crosses with it in there have at least one lower branch back-crossed to the F1 male that produced them. I may have some unused Xmas cards available in a couple of weeks ;) (PM)
Will do. I also just got 5 3590 cobs to add to my light collection lol u impressed with them so far. By your pics I certainly am.:bigjoint:what nut Line you running?

You'll like those, get them dialed into your space and they'll produce well. What first impressed me after the initial runs was the quality is beyond anything I've grown. Even the JTR that's just finishing up is louder than it's ever been and I've run it for 3 1/2 years. Awesome frosty, sticky buds and loud terps. But in addition to the quality bump, they're out-producing my CMH as well, nice.

I run 50% triple mix/50% pro-mix so it's a warm soil, not hot enough to run straight through so I supplement feeds every 2nd or 3rd watering depending on where they are in the cycle. Using AN A&B (no other crap/additives) at 400 ppm. It took a while to dial that in so I'm sticking with the AN, it's cheap for me at such low frequency and ppm feeds. Their 4L jugs last me months at a time, it's like 2x jugs of each A&B per year on average.

This past summer I tried the Jack's Citrus outdoor and it worked really well with plain tap water all the way through veg & flowering. Only problem with it is availability in Canada, they have no distributors/retailers here. Cheaper to buy on e-bay than direct from them but the shipping kills any price advantage. I'll be testing some Canadian salts similar to the Jack's next year, I talked to these guys and they look to have some legit products, available through some retailers in Canada, found one in Bradford, just haven't made it there to grab some. I use so little it's not a big deal for me but for someone using straight up pro-mix or hydro salts are a cheap and effective way to go,

I talked to these guys and they were very responsive, sent me a retailer in Bradford but they have others in the GTA and throughout Canada apparently. They're located in Brampton.

Just finishing up the front 1/2 of the room over the next few days in staggered harvests. ~3x8' total under 3590 COBs. 1st bud is Day 80, middle are Day 65, last 2 are at Day 47 and will run ~ another 2 weeks.

Buds left to right are:
Blue Ripper (Blueberry x JTR) x Blue Dream F1/P2, HSO Blue Dream, Jack The Ripper, Blue Ripper F2/P3, Plemon, Blue Ripper F2/P5, and Blue Ripper x Harlequin F1/P1 (1st keeper of this cross).

Yeah I hear you, I'll find another option soon and I'd prefer to go the salts route when I change. Takes a while and effort to dial nutes in, don't want to mess with it until I have fully tested an alternate. I like Monsanto as much as LP's so there's good incentive to drop AN.

Internet rumours only, never seen anything to verify that, likely more of a hater rumour, they tend to attract a lot of haters. According to their official line Big Mike is the sole owner now and distanced himself from the partner that was allegedly a diddler in 2013 once that story came out. Lot of drama there. My biggest driver is cleaner nutes and lower cost, anything will grow these weeds in a pinch. Right now cost isn't a big factor for me but I'll retire in the next few years and I want to reduce my costs as much as possible to maintain a decent size garden and get deeper into breeding.

COB's are awesome (CXB3590). I did the first build myself buying from cutter/USA heat sinks (800watts). I just purchased an additional 1000 watts from Timber Grow lights, everything is plug and play. Talk to Dan, since it was a decent size order and he shipped to Canada for free and also gave me a discount. 1800 watts will cover my 7ft x 7 ft flower room area. It basically cost 2.40-2.50 $/watt/cdn funds delivered from Timber. Dan will also customize your order, different spectrums and longer leads from the drivers. Timber does advertise on this site. 35-40 watts/sq ft, approx 1000 ppfd. With the current Ontario electricity costs COB are the way to go.

Yeah will do, early into next year I'll be trying them out. Will pm regarding the seeds. I had a nagging feeling there were changes coming that could screw with genetics/seeds and that recent announcement by the feds confirmed it's going to get more difficult to import seeds. In July/August of this year I bought up a ton of landrace, IBL's, and F10+ genetics to breed with. Between that and the few crosses I'm already running I'm thinking I'll have enough crosses and DIY seeds to last me a lifetime, literally ;)

I am going to try Jacks Citrus mostly for Veg, buying from Amazon. I am also going to buy 25 lbs of Jacks 7-15-30 for flower, buying from Martin’s in the USA. They will ship to Canada, even with the shipping costs it still sounds super cheap. @ GroErr, if you want some 7-15-30 to try send me a PM. I will give you a couple of lbs to try, it has 9% sulfur for flowering.

Hey thanks for the offer but I'd like to try something easily and consistently attainable locally. The Jack's Citrus worked well right through but I found in veg indoor I needed more cal-mag (even using tap water) and I'm looking for super simple, one mix and no additives. Hoping one of the blends from PlantProd does the trick. That's one of the main reasons I've stuck with AN so long, A+B+water is all I need, with limited garden time it's a big deal for me. If I get an hour a day in the garden during lights on I'm lucky,

That's the reason i am buying it, one mix and super simple. How long do you think 25 lbs of salts last for flower only? years i would think. With shipping it will cost about $130.00 cdn for 25lbs. I will be doing some side by side comparisons shortly so we will let you know. Which plant products were you looking at ? i just looked at a few but there was no cal/mag or sulfur.

How long are they good for, any idea how they break down over time? Yeah 25 lbs. would last for years. To give you an idea, the small Citrus container I tried for veg is 1lb. and lasted me 6 months.

I hadn't looked for a while but I was thinking this one for veg:
https://www.plantprod.com/usa/product/plantex-solutions-17-5-17-complete/

And this one for flowering after buds start setting in, possibly mixed with some of the first to provide any cal-mag needs:

Good question on shelf life, I would think it would be years since it is a salt. $130.00 for years of flowering would be outstanding. I will find out from the vendor and let you know. I will do some more searching on the plant prod website also, thanks for the info.

I work in a commercial greenhouse for my day job, I deal with plant product reps almost every week, I happen to know the shelf life is indefinitely. It will last. I have 2 big bags of that stuff right now in my garage. I have not tried it on Cannabis yet but plan to in the near future. Just keep it stored in a cool dry place it will last until you use it all, it stays stable.
