To start a journal all you do is go to the "Grow Journals" section of the forums (where this journal is), and click the Post New Thread button up near the top. That MG organic soil isn't very good stuff, but I guess it's probably better than their usual stuff. It has a lot of nutrients in it, so make sure you don't fertilize your plant at all for awhile.

In other news, I'm back from my trip, and the girls survived 4+ days without me here! No time to take pictures tonight (too tired to deal with it), but I'll post some tomorrow or the next day. The colas are really starting to look like colas. And smell like snozzberries!

hey buddy, just checked out your grow for the first time, so how many weeks old is she? she looks great :)

suggestion, go to home depot, buy a 300watt energy saver bulb (actual usage at like 67 i think) and attach it to one of their cheap reflective sockets with reflectors and clamp attached, total cost 25$

she looks good to me. I just started a hydro grow using a 2.5 gal bucket with a bagseed that was from some pollinated kush a friend of mine grew, and its starting out nice. i also got a fem motavation seed that i started, but its not doing so hot. shes all small and her first set of true leaves have yet to expand and get big. shes sorta funny looking, but her stem is green, and today i noticed that the next leaf set is looking deformed as well. shes in a rockwool starter cube inside a solo cup with plastic over the top, the way i start all of my seeds. i`ll keep her going till i see some good normal growth IF NOT SHES GONE. i will post photos later when they are really going good.

yeah i figured that because when i was feeding her nutriendts no matter how small the amount was she would show signs of burn.

You just suggested spending 25 bucks on about 3500 lumens of low penetration lighting.

missing your plants man. picture update soon?
Your wish is my command! I've been out of town since late last week, just got back late last night. Everything survived my absence pretty well. I am going to merge my SOG journal back with this one, since maintaining two journals seems like too much of a pain in the ass, so there will be updates of both below.

For starters, here are a couple canopy shots today, Day 44 of 12/12:

And some closer shots of the ScrOG flowers:

The SOG clones are all looking great, even the tiniest ones. The oldest one, Snap, is full-on flowering, though not as densely as the ScrOG, obviously:

The other clones, which I took right before I went out of town last week, are hopefully putting out some roots, but haven't shown any top growth yet:

Backing up a little, I just wanted to show the SOG and ScrOG side-by-side:

Finally, Mother has recovered from the clone-taking and she's starting to stretch a bit. I'll probably clip the growing tips soon to slow things down a little and encourage her to get more bushy. Since I didn't post before or after pictures here of the clone-taking, here is a shot from about a week before I took the cutting, then a shot from tonight:

That's all for now, and as always, feel free to comment!

Do you have a journal I can follow? I'd be interested in tracking your progress with those.

you must spread some reputation around before you can give any more rep to ourkansas.

Dude that is one of the nicest canopies I've ever seen on any thread. Your buds are so dense. I have watched so many sativas grow and they are always so lanky. Not yours! How big are those colas? And to think your growing strictly with Cfls. Really nice man. Aww inspiring.

Thanks georgyboy!

I just wanted to post some data in case anyone else is interested in this kind of stuff. Since my temp/humidity sensor logs the high and low readings, I have been able to analyze and graph those data points pretty reliably throughout the grow. Been awhile since I posted the charts for the flowering box (FB) and mother box (MB), so here ya go:

Just posting a quick photo update... took these photos the night before last, but hadn't gotten around to posting them yet. I put a measuring tape in a couple of the shots so you can get a better sense of the size:

And just for good measure, I figure I might as well throw in a shot of the SOG. Nothing all that interesting happening over there, but all the clones look like they're still alive, at least:

still coming along great man. Hey I want your opinion on something. Do you think more heat is generated by 6 26w cfls or 12 13w cfls? It is the same wattage but the 13w bulbs end up with more lumens.

Definitely more heat from the 13w. I'd say anything less than 20w is not worthwhile.

I kinda thought the same thing, even though the 13w makes more lumens per watt than the 23 and the 26, the difference is very tiny. I doubt that there is much difference in the heat put out by each bulb individually, meaning with 12 13w bulbs you might have twice the heat. thanks for your input.

Been close to a week since my last photos were taken, so I thought it's about time for another update. The colas are really starting to thicken lately, so exciting stuff! Here's the key to the photos below:

1 & 2: Canopy shots.
3 - 7: Closer shots of colas and flowers.
8: The trichome super-closeup.
9: Mother, who is bushing out nicely since I fimmed her 4 major branches and tied them down a little.

Oh, and one last thing before the pictures... so I've noticed these wasps buzzing around in Mother's box, but I think they're probably helpful if anything. Eating pests, I imagine. I posted about it in the Bugs forums, in case you're curious and want to see pictures. Okay, here you go, pictures from today, Day 54 of 12/12:

Just a quick photo dump update. Due to unexpected circumstances, I'm going to need to break down my grow and move into a different house in a month or so, so I've taken my mother plant and her largest clone out into the woods deep in a national forest. Here's to hoping they do okay! I will be keeping this one small clone, which will become my mother once I move:

Other than that, here are some mouth-watering photos of the ScrOG:

In case anyone is wondering, I've been on vacation for the last 8 days, and don't get home for another couple days yet. This is by far the longest I've left the plants unattended, so I'm more than a little nervous about what I'll be coming home to. I'll update you guys as soon as I unpack!
