Federal police have seized more than $200,000 worth of marijuana at the Douglas port of entry at the U.S./Mexico border.

U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officials said a Dodge Ram truck seeking entry into Arizona from Mexico on Sunday was inspected and found to have 150 pounds of the illegal substance hidden in its tires. A Mexican national was driving the truck, CBP said.

The Border Patrol also seized approximately 43 pounds of marijuana on Monday at the Douglas border crossing in separate instances involving a Mexican national and U.S. citizens.

The smugglers’ vehicles were seized in the busts and the investigation has been turned over to the U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement agency.

The Douglas crossing is in southeastern Arizona.
