That's what I've heard about your area. Too bad the auto industry took such a dive.

I'm kind of a hermit and I don't go out much anymore, but already have met half a dozen people from Windsor here in Calgary. It's actually hard to find someone born n raised in Calgary :!:

There is tons of work here, so you can pick n choose something you like. Lots of opportunity here to start an apprenticeship if you're interested in a trade.

We had a little sprinkle last week, more like ice rain. Right now, this Monday morning at 0900 it's -1°C, lows tonight will be -6° and highs this afternoon 12°

Calgary is a bit cold, but you get used to it. I've lived in the Fraser Valley of Vancouver all my life where it's a much warmer climate and didn't find it too bad last winter.

My daughter's boyfriend is from Windsor, that's where I got these seeds from :-)

. . . . hey there DtD you betcha . . . . Here's a couple pics for ya

DAY 08
2008-10-27 . . . . Monday

4 seeds of bagseed from Windsor, Ontario (outdoor genetics)

Have moved 3 biggest clones to flower area so more room for the little guys
Clones are 40 days old now

Did a little rearranging, brought light closer to the plants
Bumped one of the seedlings when I was moving clones to flower area and knocked it over
fumble fingers :wall:
It was the last one that sprouted and the smallest of the four

Plants aren't shooting up as much now so hopefully they'll start to spread out a bit.

- indoor - 3' x 3'
4 - 3½" pots
90% Sunshine Grow Mix #4, 10% perlite
4 25w Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs
ENERGY STAR CFLs for 18on/6off
Temp 75°F to 80°F, humidity 14%
using tap water that has sit for 24 hours
no nutrients

This first picture has the hood up so I could take a closer snap shot of them.

They are indeed. I think the one from that pic on the right is starting to show second set of leaves...

I checked them for the last time tonight
Perhaps I'll see some cool stuff tomorrow.
I decided from now on I'm going to use rockwool to start, these bagseed are taking forever to pop through...

Ok, was just taking some shots for my other journal and the light went out. Will get some up tomorrow. Plants are starting their 3rd node now.

you germed them in the soil without no light?
Hi T@ll T33, welcome to my journal.

Yea that's my germination method. I just got three more getting ready today.

I use 2" pots.
Sunshine #4 mixed with some perlite, around 15% content
pack the medium in the little pots tightly
put the pots in a tray with a ½" lip
fill tray with water that has set for 24 hours
no nutes
place tray with the three pots on top shelf in veg area.
temps are high 82, low 78, they need a warm area :-)
let sit for a day

. . . . so tomorrow I'll poke a hole about a ½" down. I use a chopstick. Drop the seeds in, I've never handled them. I pour a few seds out on a piece of paper with a slight crease in it. Then I just shake the paper gently so a seed drops in the hole. Cover the hole up.

Usually three two five days the seedling pokes through and starts everything :hump:
