20 Ton Hydraulic Press

I didn't know exactly what topic this should be posted under but I figures what the hell I'll just put it in the Hallucinatory Substances. Anyways. I currently have the Jack Puck 8 ton square press with 4" x 6" inner dimensions. This is the biggest press I could find and it cost me about $700usd for the press and shipping. The thing is is that the press is too small. I need something with dimensions around 10" x 8"(the size of a kg). I have pressed 22 ounces of powder in my current press but it comes out a few inches thick which I don't want. I only want it to be about 1.5-2 inches thick. Anyways does anyone have any idea on how much a 15-20 ton press will cost with 10" x 8" inner dimensions? Just curious cause I found a 20 ton press but the guy is wanting $850 and its used and that seems a bit expensive. So just curious to see if thats the right price or not. Thanks

Trade him! He knows what its used for,no need in dancing around the bushes! May I ask what you're pressing(please be raw lsd)..?

Plus you said you payed 700 for your current one, what's $150 more (so what if its used,at least you know it works!)

Also, might wanna redo the math,22oz isn't a key, you're gonna need something a lot wider if you wanna keep the brick thin...

I had a friend in nor cal that would put his hash making in a die, between two boards and drive his tractor over it and park it for a day..wonder if this type of method would work...still wanna know what u pressin..curiosity killing this cat...lol

I've always wondered if you could take two regular pump jacks and put them against each other some how

Yes you can with some welding, not hard at all..we put hash under 2 real bricks from the 1800's(they had a design in em,found em on property of the grow site) and pressed a block of dank hash with patterns on both sides, with 2 car jacks and a welded frame between the two..only a small jack tho..don't know why 20tons is necessary..after 8 tons you're gonna get what you need, after you're pressing shit too dense I might speculate..every time u nedd a substance you gott break out the chisle..lol

Go to a welding shop and have a box made of U-beam. Open on top and bottom. Pressing grass? My father had a blacksmith and welding shop. He made tons of kilo presses for people. They lied and told him they were to press coconut oil. He was born at night but it wasn't the night before these guys came in. You weld a steel plate - 1/4" should do it or 3/8" mild steel cold rolled plate to the bottom of a big hydraulic jack. Then just jack the thing up in a simple U frame. But I seriously think you should consider an air hydraulic unit. Or have bmeat's mom sit on it.

Yes I know the 22oz isn't a kg... that''s the problem. I did end up buying the press now I just have to wait for it to arrive. I wanted at least a 15 ton press or better because I need/want it compact as possible for transportation purposes.

Pop made the tops of the press frames for them with an old piece of railroad rail. A 40 ton jack with a press plate under that thing? With air assist? You could press a Volkswagen to the size of a brick and not bend anything or bind the press.

Man don't listen to what these people are saying. You can get a 20 ten press on ebay for under 300 shipped. Then all you need is a kilo mold.

Or here's a tip for getting that 8 ton jack puck to press it even tighter. After you do you normal press routine completely break the puck up; the smaller the piece the better. Put all of it back in the mold heat it up to whatever temp you like and press it again. I guarantee it will be smaller and hence denser. Rinse and repeat if you must.
