So as an experiment, you successfully grew a plant using less than... standard lighting. That is good and everyone has to take the first step. Not everyone can afford big lights, or tents, or whatever the legit farmers use, and that's ok. I think a lot of people on here forget what being broke as shit is like, and you are trying to subsidize your recreation so it doesn't have to come out of your budget, that's smart.

Tips for improvement from a noob:
Lighting, you can make do with the bulbs you are using, but those fixtures and the spiderweb of wires are dangerous. if you want to stick with hanging lights you could put together a frame for about 5-10 bucks worth of pvc, or even 1x1 wood and some screws. that would give you better support for the lights and a place to manage the cables (dollar stores have packs of zip ties for cheap). and if you can't find that in your budget, go trash diving and find the parts! just make sure you clean everything before it goes in there. and if you can use a power strip to connect your individual bulbs rather than an extension cord.

Harvesting, I won't try to tell you whether or not you got high, but i will say that you did harvest earlier than you should have. Not every strain gets super frosty, but a couple more weeks would make it even better. I'd be interested to know how the drying/curing went.

Soil, i grow hydro so i'm not expert... I'm sure there are tweaks to be made, but with what you used i am impressed with the results! there are people who spend tons of money on some well-made dirt that helps their yields, but that's not necessary for something that grows wild lol.

Primo bud comes from experience, and i'm sure you'll get there (just like I hope to). Don't let the naysayers on here get you down. Experience comes from mistakes and anyone who says otherwise doesn't want you to know about theirs lol.

Sadly he didn’t have a successful grow it was half dead and not even close to finished. What he created was a grade A fire hazard.

Well I'm not going to argue with you. You have more experience at this than either of us (objectively true). I just think some encouragement along with correction is a better method than just criticism. Do you have some low budget suggestions that could help alleviate this fire hazard?

And I fully agree that it was harvested too early, but let the man have some pride in his work. Everyone has a first step, so let's help his second be better.

Agreed, each must make their own risk assessment and deal with the results. What suggestions do you have to make his grow safer? Aside from "don't "

Is this a joke? I mean Im all about the budget grows but you need to take this shit back to the drawing board champ.. If I were you I would take a look around at some of the other budget grows and just do what they do..

Is that foil on the lightbulbs? Sum ppl swear by them but my personal opinion is those high watt cfls are the worst
Burn your plants right up!!!

There’s plenty of examples all over for budget grows. I’ve seen many a grower do some awesome things with a small budget. He’s been around on this board long enough. More than enough time to do research anything from cfls grows or a cheap t5 setup. There’s Craigslist which you can find plenty of guys that tried and gave up selling their equipment for dirt cheap.

do some research on proper grow room safety before you go nuts stringing power cords all over the place
invest in low wat leds or cobs

First off, get rid of all the wires!!! If he cleaned it up it wouldn't look so dangerous!!! Then he needs to know what he is growing, reg, auto... And READ UP ON GROWING CANNABIS!!! That way he'll have a good idea of how long the plant is going to go through each stage of growth and development... Its not rocket science, but its not that easy if you don't know what to do or expect...
